I recall this may have been discussed before. Have you ever received a sealed bank box, right off the truck with customer wrapped rolls inside?

Hey Oakstar, I just got this box today. I have seen this before, and believe the 20 rolls are already gone through by another person. The other 30 rolls are normal.

    @CRHer700 -

I've had the same situation many times before.

You might be right but that person might only be looking for silver. Make sure you're looking for missing FG initials, rotated dies, missing partial reverse clad layers, strike through grease, clipped planchets, DDO's and DDR's.

Sorry I am late with the rest of last month’s pictures, but I had 11 boxes at one time and got way behind. Anyway, here they are:

  • Latest box, and first time placing an order (rather than waiting for whatever the branch has available). Looks like a full box of Celia Cruz.

Thanks! It will be fun and hopefully productive. Already glancing at the 82 on top and seeing strong possibilities.

The sets are a combination of different sellers coming through the door so never know what you’re gonna get one from one set to the next.

I've seen fewer than a dozen of this '82 set but there were a couple of the gemmiest Philly quarters in them. It could be just luck of the draw but where there's one Gem there are always more.

I didn’t realize they were that rare. I’ve only bought 3 to this point and yes they were very gemmy hitting 66+ on the P halve and 67 on the D.

The D I had graded later post Phil. CERT says VG 10 label says MS 67 go figure.

Sourcing mint sets when you get tired looking at eBay carp!
255 mint sets just arrived that I ordered from a coin/secret shop. Will be busy this weekend!

    That looks enjoyable.

Especially if I end up in the black. I only paid $1 over grey sheet per set so I only need a few hits to cover plus the bulk will be resold.

I call these "california sets" for lack of a better name. What state is on the mailing box envelopes? From what state did the entire shipment originate?

No clue, though I bought these in Texas I doubt that they originated here. I need to find more of these. One of the first ones I purchased the nickel is an absolute stunner but it didn't have FS so there it sits.

So far, I have been through them all setting aside in one stack the throw backs, then a stack of "these are worth another look", and then finally a stack of roughly 50 that will most likely be opened. Although that final stack will go through another finalization first.

I’m finding some really nice stuff in this parcel. Will post some later time willing.

This 84 might be the sleeper of this bunch. The more I look the more I like...

A slightly different time period but this similar looking 83 hit 66 and with a couple big hits. The 84 is cleaner in that respect.
Fyi they both came from those yellow hard plastic Souvenir sets.

Some colorful finds from the second half (84-98) of the last order.

Searched 20 rolls of the next box and found another one of these! 2023-P with the "eye's" die clash. You can also see the die clash on the obverse. These are also a WDDR-045 or WDDR-047. I have not been able to detemine which one yet.

I'll have to keep a look out for those. By the way, four V nickels is exceptional. Congratulations.

If it is, the owner did that to it when revealed as a fake.
    It displays worse in hand.
Damn, you’re making me feel irresponsible for not checking it out.

I paid five bucks for a Gerber jar of wheaties at a yard sale. It is the number four MM position.
It almost fails as a hole filler.

    Almost... :D

I found over $700 in opened and unopened penny rolls while cleaning my coin room this weekend.
Not to mention over 700 mint sets to re-market as I hit the reset button. One of my rituals/necessities after submitting to the coin Gods.

That is definitely a win, even if it is fake. I have yet to get one of these.......
