Being in the Northeast, and not by any large cities, in a rural mountain town.... Well, unlikely I will see any of those... :D But always looking.... Cheers, RickO

2 is the count, but this is for the “accidental early release.”

Still awaiting the “First Discovery” for the clock to start.

All I know is I wasn’t one if them.

    Congrats to the lucky six!

    ————-

First Week ends on 5 Sep and throw in one holiday (no USPS service.)

    Interesting.

Off topic, I know - but does it count if I report the arrival of my 'S' uncirculated roll on September 1? Couldn't believe that FEDEX and the Postal Service combined to deliver this to me in 6 days, on a Sunday, no less.

Six days via FXUSPS and a Sunday. You must have some excellent USPS personnel or they got confused with an Amazon shipment. Good stuff all around.

Posting the basic chart for SAM (San Antonio Missions) and overall totals for Lows, AMs, and Wars (no charts):

    SAM: 20 (+18)
    War: 5555 (+101)

    Low: 8909 (+63)

The “+” indicates net change in encapsulated coins since my last post. The totals above are the number encapsulated by our host and includes, first discovery, first week, early release, accidental release, and all others (non-variety/pedigree).

SAM: First Week of Discovery pedigree ends on September 5th have your shipments postmarked NLT than this day. Early Find last date to mail in is October 13th.

Below is the chart for SAM and highest graded is MS66, so far.

    SAM: 20 (+0) No change
    War: 5560 (+5)
    AM: 2570 (+0) No change

Slow week or (more than likely) have not had time to update.

Re-posting the SAM chart, previous post's image was incomplete:

Update since last post. Busy week for our host.

SAM numbers are mostly “First Week”, all other quarters are standard. Our hosts is offering a special label for all West Point coins. Check the quarterly specials; and the quarter ends at the end of this month, September.

The “numismatic rarity’s” rarity still appears to be slabbed AMs of any pedigree. SAM “First Week” has already exceeded AM’s “First Week.” Will know more when the “Early Find” pedigrees runs its course for the SAMs.

    SAM: 398 (+378)
    War: 5616 (+61)
    AM: 2710 (+140)
    Low: 8987 (+78)

I finally got a roll of new quarter's today, Washington at both ends, I thought I had my first chance to go through it and look for a West Point Quarter, when I opened it I was disappointed, 2018 Pictured Rocks.

There was a time I would have gone through hundreds of rolls, but trapped in a bed after having a stroke in 2016 it's nearly impossible. It's not easy to get rolls at all, my bank said they would not order new quarter's.

I would love to find someone who sold unopened rolls that I could trust having a chance to go through a few.

If there are any dealers on eBay that are trustworthy please let me know. I am still waiting for my first 'W' quarter.

I read somewhere that the Mint has confirmed there will be no more W quarters after these five.

    None next year.

    An update.

SAMs had a big jump in a week (since last post). There are 7 SAM 68’s!

Pedigreed AMs with a slabbed pedigreed count of 1216 (total 2727) is now the lowest (again) of the four quarters until Idaho’s ATB comes out in November.

    SAM: 1953 (+1555)
    War: 5763 +147)
    AM: 2727 (+17)
    Low: 8999 (+12)

    Agree!

I’m guessing those first few (hundreds/thousands?) of SAM finds were well struck from brand new dies. Also, guessing, as it goes on the number of 65s will go up.

The “accidental early release” must have been the “happy-dance” for more than the one who initially submitted.

    SAM: 2324 (+371)
    War: 5774 (+11)
    AM: 2745 (+18)
    Low: 9010 (+11)

    More SAM-Ws have made 68 from 7 to 10.

Overall, the SAM-P, D, S, and W have quite a few 68s (53 total). There are two 69s and a 68+ and the majority (40) of the 68s come from the Philly Mint. D has two and S has one.

Guessing something happened at the Philly Mint, perhaps the “long” break between the Wars and SAMs brought some rejuvenation to people and equipment.

At the current rate the slabbed SAMs should exceed the AM’s in a couple weeks; therefore, leaving the AM’s as the lowest slabbed W-quarters, again.

The last day for SAM Early find pedigree is 13 Oct.

    Update since last post.

SAMs trying hard to surpass AMs and probably will on the next update after the probable flood of last minute submissions this past holiday weekend. Submissions for the SAM’s Early Find pedigree ended on 13 Oct; submissions must have been post marked no later than this date.

Idaho’s Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness ATB West Point quarter’s official release is 4 Nov. This is the last W quarter.

    River: 5 Nov
    SAM: 2799 (+475)
    War: 5893 (+119)
    AM: 2807 (+62)
    Low: 9037 (+27)

New chart format. May or may not post.

    Update since last post.

Encapsulated SAMs exceeds AMs; therefore, AMs are back to being the denominator for a full W-quarter set.

    River: 5 Nov
    SAM: 3079 (+280)
    War: 5990 (+97)
    AM: 2811 (+4)
    Low: 9056 (+19)

My last 3 quarter boxes yielded:

-a brand new 2018 dunno what NP box
-2 mixed quarters boxes with its ends hand crimped. To me an obvious W quarter search rejects because each end of the roll consisted of newer quarters (Lowells, Am. etc).

    sigh...

Expected the numbers for the SAMs due to submissions for the EF designation by the deadline; but what happened with the Wars? A guess is that there were a couple (or more) bulk submitters.

    River: 5 Nov
    SAM: 3578 (+499)
    War: 6464 (+474)
    AM: 2820 (+9)
    Low: 9061 (+5)

Graded the first one. Surprised no MS68's on the AM coin.
Seen some very nice coins, someday!!

Agree. Interesting that the AMs are so delayed in both numbers and grades.

When @HeatherBoyd starts the W-River thread I’ll move updates over.

SAMs went down? Probably typo on my last update? Did not take a snapshot of 26 Oct so I cannot re-check (Internet Archive has no info for that date, as well.) it is still an overall net gain.

    River: 5 Nov
    SAM: 3497 (-81)
    War: 6501 (+37)
    AM: 2885 (+65)
    Low: 9107 (+46)

W-Riveras will soon hit our host. Sightings have been seen on the net.
