I don't anticipate the local banks having any of these for a while. I do enjoy reading about the finds members post on the forum though.
Good hunting to you all.
BTW, I lived on Guam for 4 years in the early 80's so these quarters hold a special interest to me.
Going to be a tough find.
Still have not seen a "W" quarter in circulation.

WIP (nothing posted, so far)

I guy I follow on YouTube picked up a couple of boxes of quarters yesterday and found 2 of the Guam W-mint quarters between the two boxes... not all were rolls of new coins, but several were. He said he's sending them to PCGS ASAP!

I still have not found a Lowell W quarter.... I keep using cash at the grocery store and other establishment... forgot to go to the bank yesterday... busy with chores....Work today.. I will celebrate the first one though....Pop the cork on a great Cabernet....
Cheers, RickO
One just sold on ebay today
Actual or preorders?
Edit: Seller said it was “in hand.”
Lot of preorders being listed. Wow!
PCGS has received at least one. They should have a reward for when Ricko finds a W.

All of my collection is in a safe deposit box!
Early start on the first to be graded. Clock ticking on "First Week of Discovery," will likely run out before a whole lot get sent in. Most cities are yet to see them.

I’m guessing a low pop for first week.
But still have sometime for first week pedigree.
Looks like 3 winners for the Guam W First Discovery (coinfacts lists the label as First Disovery 1 of 3)
Don't see grades in the pop report yet.
Hmm... who get’s the 0.67c?
$666.66, $666.66. $666.67
War Base # 718000
Update is as of the date/time of this post (snapshots taken right before posting). Change in numbers is based upon the last pop post, somewhere above.
War: 12, +12
AM: 690, +74
Low: 5692, +181
War, starting stats. First week pedigree last day is 12 Jun. Then it’s the Early Find pedigree for 45 days. End date about 17 July.

AM, last day to submit for pedigree was 1 Jun

Lowell, last day to submit for pedigree was 24 May

—————
The next ATB quarter, Texas - San Antonio Missions National Historical Park release date is 26 Aug.
Findings of the War W quarters
North: Illinois, North Dakota
East: New York, Florida
South: Texas, Louisiana
West: Utah
Any states I missed?
Two days worth of numbers since last post.
War: 12 (no change) - First week pedigree ends on 12 Jun. Must be postmarked NLT 12 Jun.
AM: 746 (+56)
Low: 5694 (+2)
MS67 is the highest grade for all three quarters.
There is a registry set for the West Point quarters AND they have been added to the achievement award points and trophies. Maybe a mad scramble for slabbed first week War quarters for some registry competitors.
Enjoy!
to the top. Any luck finding the Guam W's? Not showing up here in Jacksonville where we have a major Fed Reserve branch bank. Very limited finds on the Marianas. For some reason they are not hitting the street in $500 bank boxes.
Not giving up the search. Will double down on number of boxes this week.

Updates since the last post:
War: 412 (+400)
AM: 1096 (+250)
Lows: 5862 (+168)
War’s first finds has already exceeded AM’s first finds.
With registry submissions, W quarters, and the usual submissions our host has been busy.
Pedigree submission for all AMs and Lows are over. War’s first find is over. Those who submitted by the deadline should be good to go. War early find deadline is 20 July.
26 Aug is the release date for San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, TX quarters.
Change since last post:
War: 972 (+565) Appears to be an input error for “Base”
AM: 1164 (+168) Includes 74 non-FD19
Low: 5870 (+8) Includes 78 non-FD19
This shows my thoughts on later graded material from my previous post......
Lowells
Approximately
1 out of 2 grade 66 in First Week
1 out of 3 grade 66 in Early Find
1 out of 10 grade 66 in Base
Maybe, for the most part, the 66’s are all graded? This is an exaggeration of course but let’s see how these numbers play out over time. It will be interesting to follow.
Successful buys on BST board from NotSure, Nankraut, Yorkshireman, Astrorat, Ikeigwin(2x), Bob13, Outhaul, coinbuf, dpvilla, jayPem, Sean1990, TwoKopeiki, bidask, Downtown1974, drddm, nederveit2
Looks like the first MS68 “W” quarter was made yesterday. It’s a first week of discovery Guam.
There should be several MS68's for Guam. There are some really nice coins.
My 2 cents
The 68 is going to be some $$.
It sure will be !!!!
Just my 25c worth
Your coin?
After I saw @mas3387 post went and looked at my “processings” and that isn’t me.
On the hunt!

Hope not. Just sent in 240 Lowell W's.> @mas3387 said:
Actually it was 237 Lowell's and 3 Marianas. As you can see from the Pop Reports, the Mariana is tuff to find.
That's weird, how did my reply to your post get posted above your post?

no no, not this time
Looks like Mariana American Memorial W might be the sleeper. As of 6/26 the next issue (War in The Pacific) already has a total pop of almost three times as many graded"

That's A LOT of coins, Best of luck to you !!
@derryb At bulk grading rate a profit is to be made but may take a bit to realize.
The Pops are going to go wild.
Unless there is big dump of graded variety AMs they are going to be a sticking point for future, “I Want the Entire W Quarter Series,” collectors. Denominator is 1292 (subtract the non-first week and early find and it’s less).
Hunting goes on!
No rhyme or reason of when I post but here’s another update:
War: 3605 (+2633) Wow!
AM: 1580 (+416) Mostly non-FD19
Low: 5969 (+99) Mostly non-FD19
Must have shuffled some graders to clear a backlog of “processing.”
Still have two more W quarters.
Anyone notice/watching the 2019-W America the Beautiful Quarter War in the Pacific National Park PCGS First Discovery (1 of 3) PCGS MS-64 ending @ GC tonight? $5,500 and 39 bids with about an hour to go.
With fee, $6187.50. Nice!
War: 4050 (+445) Four are non-FD19 (base pop fixed)
AM: 1815 (+235) Most of the additional are non-FD19
Low: 6277 (+308) Most of the additional are non-FD19
Edit: Replaced the Lowell chart with the expanded version.
Thank you for keeping this updated !!!
Have a bunch of War and AM in for grading, Lowell to go in
shortly.
Overall the AMs have the lowest pop counts for slabbed by almost 4 to 1 of the Lows and Wars.
Might need to hold back a few FD19s for later.... thinking...
War: 4310 (+260)
AM: 1862 (+47)
Low: 6535 (+258)
AM is going to be the future hang-up in the series unless one of the next two W quarters takes the low count.
Are these PCGS stats?
Yes. The information is current as of a few minutes prior to posting as I took the snapshots.
Isn't the FD19 submission only for the special labels? Once no longer eligible they become regular modern submissions.

Yes, FD19 is for special labels.
Hold some slabbed FD19 AMs and do not sell right now.
In fact hold some of each FD19 until the last then start selling as a 5-coin set of W quarters.
The sets will be limited by the FD19 quarter with the lowest overall count.
——-
That was a plan but the needs of the many exceeded the supply.
gottcha. good thinking. same can apply to non special W labels as well.

Two-days until the "early find" pedigree for the Guam's War in the Pacific National HIstoric Park expire. Deadline is 20 July to have them postmarked to our host.
Next up is Texas' San Antonio's Mission National Historic Park; release is 26 Aug 19.
Last up is Idaho's Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness; release is 4 Nov 19.
Maybe this belongs in a new thread, but I wonder if there is any interest left in these W quarters. Specifically, it seems that people searching for these quarters is down 90% from when the Lowells first came out. At this rate, the River of No Return will be fairly valuable because there will only be about five saved in mint state. Am I wrong? Are people as interested as ever in these quarters?
Yes, you are partially wrong and right. The slabbed are going pretty strong price-wise and have fallen into their price ranges for now. Just have to find the sweet spot (for each quarter) what someone is willing to buy for. Slabbed premiums are still fairly strong in the 66 and above range.
The raw sellers are cutting their own throat by cutting their prices; but they are probably dumping now since they've missed the deadlines. I'd keep some of those raws and start selling them as sets next year. But, you'd need to have a positive outlook and actually didn't spend any money getting them raw, i.e., didn't spend an arm/leg buying them raw in the first place. Heaven forbid actual change and CRH finds.
I project this will continue through early next year after all are issued and everyone has their fill of the five West Point quarters. Then this will go the same way as the West Point dime and only the higher grades will command a premium. New collectors of West Point coins, etc.
Next stop is the West Point Nickel.
My opinion and worth about however much you can get for it at auction (minus fees).
I still haven’t found a 2019 W American Mem. Or Guam. 😭
