Does this look like an authentic 1944 steel wheat penny to you? It weighs 2.7 grams and is attracted to a magnet.

Send it in and find out. Let PCGS examine it.

Troll post asked same ? before.
@dust3110.... Welcome aboard..... Such a coin should be authenticated by experts, since, if real, it will be quite valuable. Be aware, there have been many fakes.... so expert evaluation is required. Cheers, RickO
It needs to be authenticated and slabbed by a major TPG before anyone will take it seriously. It makes no difference what I or any other poster thinks based on just seeing those photos.
We ALL think it's probably fake. For a $20,000 coin, we ALL think you should send it in.
Any genuine circulated bronze Lincoln Wheat cent will look like it is make of zinc-plated steel if you convert the image to grayscale.
The odds of being struck by lightning are roughly .0000014.
The odds that this coin is real are roughly .000000017.
You are roughly 100 times more likely to get struck by lightening. Good luck!
Listens to answers, then asks what we think of the coin... I am sick of trolls. Sorry not sorry
No the color does not look correct I think you just took a black and white picture
By my count you've received 8 answers. Lots of knowledge here, soak it in.
OK, you seem earnest. Start with actual pictures, not grayscale scans. Then honestly tell us how this coin came to be in your possession. There's like 25 known out of 1.4 billion minted, so you can understand the skepticism.
I have an even rarer 1970s steel. Jk it is gray tone picture like the picture of the 1944 so called steel cent.
Save your money. Several have indicated it looks like a black & white or grayscale scan or photo. It sounds like you want to bet on a long shot, well you lose 99.7% of the time on a long shot. Maybe you should step back and rethink your significant purchases.
"It is not in my possession yet"
Then how are you sure of the weight & magnet?
Your buying a coin for $1000?
Bad pics
Not slabbed
And your asking strangers on spending $1000 for a cent.
Take a breather. Walk around the block. Take an objective look at the situation.

Let him get scammed. He'll start listening to all answers real close. Worth the $1000 in the long run.
How do you know it's not?
If you had a confirmed authentic example, would you sell it for $1,000?
Because no one who knows enough about coins to know that that coin is rare would sell it for 1/20th of what it is worth.
You wanted our opinion, you aren't taking it. You don't want our opinion, you want our confirmation.
I now think you should definitely spend $1000 on it.
An authentic example would be worth around $100,000 and the seller isn't willing to make the effort to get confirmation? There might be a lesson there.
If the seller thinks there’s even a small chance the coin is authentic, why in the world would they not submit the coin themselves? Think about it.
Smitten with DBLCs.

You're grading the coin from the image you posted?
the same person who told you that is the same person who take a grey scale photo of the coin. It's also the same person who gets your money.
The reason people spend money for TPGS opinions is because the TPGS has no financial interest in the outcome of the transaction.
You say you aren't trolling, but you are acting like it. We are all suspicious of the coin. We don't have any information by which to make a better judgment.
If I were you, I'd tell the seller that you'll pay him $3000 if he sends it in for grading BEFORE you buy it. If he says "no", you know it's a scam.
Oh hes a new seller. Well then it must make the story more legit. Always trust new sellers because they have all the good coins.
