Whitman/Baltimore

Who's going? Short turnaround time from the Feb./Mar. show.
Long Beach a week or two later. Too many BIG shows or poor
planning?

The summer show has always been the weakest of the three. Years ago it was not even run but the same management, which was not Whitman at that time. A local club ran it as a fund raiser.

The summer doldrums plus too many shows will probably make this one a dull affair. When I was going to it, one of highlights was to take in an Orioles game or two.

If I checked correctly the Birds are out of town.

There are a couple of local dealers in the foreign section that I enjoy seeing, but that does not make the trip worthwhile.

I’ll be there. The timing is right and it’s east coast. Worst case I get some show grades in.

Whitman botched it this time. I realize it's due to the convention center. It's unbelievable they are having this show Memorial Day weekend. There's no amount of money you could pay me to drive to that show on Memorial Day weekend!(Yes I have to drive) I suspect this will be one of the lowest attended Baltimore shows both by dealers and collectors alike.

Edit for Brainfart or maybe I was lazy! :#

They have less than 200 dealers on their list. Still wouldn't mind going.

Um...Labor Day is in September! (Yes, we know you're talking about Memorial Day)

Oh, I can assure you there's plenty of birds in town. (Keep your wallets in your front pockets, folks!)

I'd go if the drive were less than 100 miles, but I'm in Florida.

I agree with @amwldcoin as with the holiday this summer show after Thursday night will be a complete ghost town.

I hope Whitman reimburses the dealers who have a far less than normal slow summer show.

I have occasionally done quite well on "off" shows, and occasionally get that little bit extra off from the dealer...

We had planned on visiting friends in Aberdeen, MD, but that went down the drain. I guess I am going to have to catch up with as many people as possible in Somerset, NJ in a couple of days at the GSNA show.

Always like hearing show and trip reports.

I'm thinking about going on Saturday if I see a decent show report beforehand. If not - I'll pas.

I would, but I'm up in New England for the summer, and leave this week. Anyone got any recommendations for dealers in the region?

Once again, family matters preclude my attending. Will shoot for fall!

Andy from GreatCollections will be there. Usual table 349. We'll have the Edgemont Collection on display - Top 10 Registry Set, U.S. Type Coins (Copper, Nickel, Silver).

Considering New Orleans PCGS show was this week and Baltimore is next week, then Long Beach - yes, a lot of shows. Generally, once a year there is the perfect storm of shows in a row like this.

Actually, the O's are playing the Yankees at Camden yards on Tuesday night 7pm and Wednesday day game at 1pm. Besides the show I will be attending the Yank/O's games! Should be a lot of fun as the Yanks playing well some nice coins available for me.
