I’m mostly excited about Damien Harris. I honestly don’t even make a big deal out of the draft when it comes down to it, I stopped seriously getting emotional about it back in the early Belichick days of drafting Daniel Graham then Benn Watson blah blah blah

I don't know a lot of the players usually because I don't keep up much with college football. This year, after the draft, I spent much more time than I usually would seeking out info on the picks. I think I was just craving some extra Patriots content Living in Texas I feel like I am up to date with off season Cowboys news way more than Patriots, mostly just through my sports talk radio habit.
I've been thinking that I should start listening to some Boston radio on the computer/phone instead. I am not familiar with what is good/bad do I will have to just check it out.

For good Pats talk on radio here in NE i recommend 98.5 Sports Hub between 10-2 with Scott Zolak. Then during 2-6 you'll get tin foil hat conspiracy drama.
Or the PatriotsWeekly crew show on the Pats site is decent as well.

The Pats will be signing free agent OT Jared Veldheer in the next few days. He should be a solid pickup for their OL. Also NFL teams can start signing free agents that won't count towards the compensatory pick formula starting tomorrow so expect BB maybe bring in a few other FAs as well.

Yes, it should be a fun time to see who can come in and get us ready for that next SB
Pats WR Bruce Ellington didn't even make it to training camp before getting released today with an injury waiver. I hope we see another WR or TE signed instead.

Good, the last thing we need is some lazy player who is playing the injury game before training camp. I think they dealt with enough of that crap with Mitchell..

I don't know if he's injured at all or was hiding something when signed, I just worded that the way it was typed in the WEEI article I read. There was no mention of injury other than he got released with an injury waiver.

I just read about that, sign him up. His numbers from last season weren't far off from what Gronk had and its not like he'd have to replace Gronk,he'd just have to make a catch here & there.

And BLOCK! A lot of people definitely don’t realize that a big part of what he brought to the table was his blocking. That is going to be tough to replace as well

True but they have about three "blocking" TEs on the roster already not including the UDFA TE/H-back Andrew Beck who from everything i've read about him was considered great at blocking in college. He didn't get picked because he wasn't considered a pass catching TE at Texas.
The Pats don't need a superstar at the position just someone who can consistently catch the ball and make the defense account for him.
NE also just signed WR Dontrelle Inman on a one year deal. He caught 28 passes for 304 yards and three TDs for the Colts last season and his best year was with the Chargers in 2016 where he caught 58 passes for 810 yards and four TDs.
Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph is also getting mentioned again as possibly on the trade market after contract extension talks broke off with the Vikings. He's due 7.6M this season. Make it happen Bill.
Kyle Rudolph could be made available via trade with the Patriots. Or they could just wait until the Vikings cannot sign him, and pick him up for nothing (and I believe the Vikes would get a compensatory pick).

Just imagine if they get both Gordon & Gronk back in the second half of the season.
While a Gronk return tour would no doubt be awesome, I like the idea of him staying retired. If I remember correctly he could become only the second NFL HOF inductee to retire before age 30, with Gale Sayers being the first. That would be a truly great accomplishment.

Honestly I’d rather him go out the way he did, coming back midseason would be a complete media circus and BB would not want to deal with that, not saying he wouldn’t take him back but aside from that it’s hard to finish off a career any better than he already did.

Edelman will go out with Brady, calling it now 👍
I think its pretty obvious they've been going out with each other for close to 10 years now. Those super models in the background are just window dressing at this point.
Kidding aside, hopefully its after winning #7.

More like #8 or #9 if it's a two year extension.
We don't need to get greedy, 7 Lombardi's over a 20yr stretch is more than adequate.
Looks like Ben Watson will be suspended for the first four games of the season, from the report I read: The 38-year-old posted a long message to Facebook Sunday afternoon saying he's suspended for the first four games of the 2019 season because of testing positive for Bio Identical Testosterone Cypionate. Watson thought he was retiring after last season so he was prescribed it by his doctor to help his body feel better after a long NFL career. Weeks later he was tested by the NFL and then he forgot all about it before getting a letter May 3 saying it came back positive. By then he was considering playing again so he alerted all interested teams. Therefore, when the Patriots officially signed him on May 9 they were fully aware he would be missing the first four games.
Just saw a report that NE is releasing TE Austin Sefarious-Jenkins so he can step away from football for a month in order to focus on personal issues. There's not much more info saying what it was for.
That could be what it's for. I was just thinking that between him & Watson they could have some decent production from that position even though neither player's stats were that gaudy a year ago. Hopefully BB goes looking for another pass catching TE at some point now.
I keep seeing Kyle Rudolph's name linked to the Pats. They have plenty of 2020 draft picks to get a deal done but they don't have enough cap space to take on his 7M+ that he's owed this season. I could be wrong but ASJ getting released should bump their cap space to just about 7M.
Rudolph is the best we could hope for at this point, no their names are being written about. Doubt the cap space will work though, unless with ASJ out it’s available like you mentioned
