Hey Steve - I feel like a dolt, but I didn’t see the rule about editing our posts. I subbed at 8:03 and edited it in the same minute to just add the sport names to try to make your job easier (and possibly made it more difficult). Kevin and Jim, thanks for making these posts. It seems like you both are very understanding of the situation so I thank you both for that. The rule is in place so that no one can go back and add products after the fact to their first post. While it sounds like neither of you did that the rules of the break do have to be enforced. What will happen with anyone who has edited their post is their requests will default to the posted time of their edit. I think this is the most fair resolution to enforce the rule but not be overly harsh in penalizing those who have edited.

Steve, you should replace the 592 in bold with the time posted - I'm showing 3/4 2:40AM, assuming that's Eastern time. When Brad posts again, that number will go up.

Hey Manny, great to hear from you. Mark (cincyredlegs) was the first person I thought of when this break was suggested by akuracy503 as Mark led the first several breaks I joined in the 2012-2013ish range. I know Dave (70sToppsFanatic) and David (DJR) have both taken on the lead as well.
I have confirmed with Steve that a second box of 1980 Topps BK box can be added to our break. For the second 1980 BK box anybody who already reserved from the first box will have to wait until 5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern tonight to add more packs.
**Update: Steve has confirmed that we can add the second 1980 Topps BK Wax Box to this break. Please note, the first box we broke had a known pack with Bird/Magic showing on top. The new box is a standard 1980/81 box with no Bird/Magic on top designation. As such the second box is actually less expensive and packs will be $158 for the second box as opposed to the $184 for the first box. I also asked to add another 1983 T BB Rack box but he is sold out of that one.
To allow members who did not get in on the first box, anybody who already reserved from the first box will have to wait until 5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern tonight to add more packs for the second 1980 BK box.**

I’m new to the board breaks so this might be a dumb question, but what happens if all the slots don’t sell for an item? I assume that the folks already lined up for reservations can decide whether to pony up some additional $s to make it happen. Or does BBCE open a case/box and then keep the extras to be sold as smaller units? Some of the items have low participation so far, so I was just curious. Thanks.
Slum22...sorry if I missed this noted somewhere in the thread, but is their any method to the allocation of the 80-81 BB packs, given that 1 of the packs would be extra special! Whatever process and Steve work out is fine by me.

On rare occasions, Steve will OK the break if it's not quite full and sell smaller units on his site/in store. I don't think I've seen that happen with less than ~90% already committed here.
I will update all requests late tonight when I have time after my Daddy Duty shift is over. However, I will try and answer questions regarding the break as they come up.

It is up to Steve Hart at BBCE what happens to unfilled boxes/cases. If it is not close to being filled, in all likelihood Steve will keep the box sealed and those requests will simply be cancelled for those who submitted them. If the box is close to full, my guess is late action will get the boxes filled. In some instances, Steve Hart may decide to open the case/box and keep the remaining contents as inventory for his site. This will all be solely at his discretion though. These are his materials and I have no say in what he will choose to do. That said, we are still within the pack and box limit stage (and still within the 1st 24 hours at that). When limits are lifted Wednesday at 5pm I would expect we might see most of these boxes/cases filled.

This is an excellent question. I have given this some thought and I will run it by Steve. My thinking is that the 36 slots will all get randomized and given a new slot number 1-36. For that box, the packs will then be distributed to each member based on their randomized slot, starting from left to right, top to bottom in this pattern:

11 12
etc. I think everyone can see the idea.
I think this would be the most fair way to ensure even odds at the "special" pack. However, this would also be putting more work on Steve and his staff, so while this would be my ideal plan I will have to make sure they are ok with executing that.
