Inevitability this is true for me as well... ;)

If the higher end packs I purchased show up in good shape (PSA 7 or better), I plan on getting them graded and slabbed. The cheaper packs are being opened very soon after they arrive.

Do we setup new threads for the rips, maybe 1 per product, or do we keep piling on this thread? And does anyone know if shipping is underway, or does BBCE wait until everyone has paid before breaking, packing, and shipping?

I'm curious to see what people get! How do you know if a pack would be a PSA 7 or higher? I know nothing about unopened as I usually always open but I'm undecided what to do this time

In past breaks, I believe Steve held off shipping until everyone was paid up. Occasionally if there was a straggler, he may have made arrangements with them. Obviously, he doesn't want to break some of the higher dollar boxes and find out several people don't pay.

So yes, unless anyone"s intention is to prolong the wait for all the innocents, please pay as soon as it is possible for you. :)

  • kerryvillekerryville Posts: 341 ✭✭✭

All payed is the way to get them shipped. I know this is bad sounding for Slum but we used to keep a running tab of who had paid. That way if someone had to back out someone else maybe be able to finish it off.

Well, I’m no expert but the biggest question - is it really unopened - is guaranteed in this case! Other than that, I try to go by PSA’s guidelines here: https://www.psacard.com/resources/gradingstandards. I assume the packs will be in very good shape, but printing/wrapping errors could be issues that may lower the grade and lead to me opening mine instead.

Same here for my 79T Hockey. HOFers showing or perhaps if I have one very nicely centered pack that would have a shot at a PSA 9. Would love to upgrade my 8 for my 70T Hockey Pack registry.

I will try to call tomorrow to pay. I was just wondering if the the 92 bowman packs are a go or not because the box didn't sell out. I know in the past that Steve did not want to beak a partial box? If it was stated then I missed it, sorry.

    Matt

Matt, the two products that did not sell out are a no go. Unless he changed his mind, Steve Hart was not going to open any boxes that were not sold out. So you do not have to pay for any 1981 T BB or 1992 B BB packs you reserved from the boxes that did not sell out.

If people want to post their rips in this thread they can feel free and once that starts happening I can change the title of the thread to reflect that. Otherwise, I would suggest opening one new thread for all the products. I think individual threads for different products will end up taking up too much space on the front page. Plus, much like the pickups thread we have, I think it is very cool to click on a thread and see a variety of different things. I love seeing what other people collect even if I do not collect it. Sometimes seeing something outside of my normal interest opens a collecting interest for me. So I vote for rips to be shared in one thread, here or a new one.

They did in the early days of pack grading but haven't had one since around 2011.

@kerryville is right. Just give Steve H. your CU username and his team can tabulate your bill for you. Don't waste any extra bandwidth calculating any more, save it for watching out for the next Black Topps Update Soto to hit the market.
