Zooming into the excellent pictures is fascinating, to see all of the tiny marks that become visible.
At first i wanted to enlarge, what to me in my roarshock eyes, was a voice bubble out of Miss Liberty's mouth, and some other possibly non-random lines in the fields, beheld many die cracks, but also some that appear--in the pictures-- to not be raised but sunken.
Found my initial in the bubble, anyone else spot it?
Very nice ... I have never had a chance to buy the “perfect one” like this.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I was fortunate enough to acquire this coin through Rare Coins of New Hampshire last month in an old fatty NGC AU55 CAC holder and crossed it to PCGS 55 at FUN last week.
That's a gorgeous coin! Sorry to ask what is probably an obvious question, but what do you mean by crossing it to PCGS 55? I suspect that you had it regraded by PCGS, and it sounds like you had it done on the spot. Is it possible to get coins graded by NGC and/or PCGS at coin shows?

I sent the NGC AU55 CAC coin in to PCGS while I was at the last winter FUN show for crossover service whereby PCGS grades the coin through the holder and if they agree with the grade on th NGC holder, they will crack it out and put it into a PCGS holder.

It’s amazing how many 1839-O half dollars are either untoned, dipped out, or just plain unattractive!
I’m not surprised, quite frankly, it took me so long to find an eye appealing example.

I've waited 10+ years for a coin or two......this would make a good topic and a slew of great coins like the OP's. Do I dare post one?

Dang...I missed the original post when I was on a hiatus.
I love this coin. Sure, it's a 55. But I'd take it over any AU I've seen. Stunning. Congrats, @drddm!
