I was offered a price I couldn’t refuse. I was wondering grade? Xf45 is what I was thinking.
Worth slabbing? I guess just for ease of selling later?

XF/AU details - cleaned (polished)
Not worth getting slabbed. Looks XF cleaned and polished. I hope you got it close to melt value.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

EF-40/45 sharpness, but it has been polished. It would not be worthwhile to get this slabbed.
Low-end EF, polished and scrubbed to look "shiny." No TPG is going to certify that coin as anything but "AM" -- "A Mess"
Sadly it's polished. XF details.

This coin is in a cardboard flip with plastic. Do you guys think that’s giving the appearance of polished?
Only because I usually don’t miss things like that.
Maybe better to wait till it comes for me to image it

EF Cleaned
Latin American Collection
It's definitely polished. You can see the luster breaks, and it just has the look.

Well the price was good.
It appears to have been polished but, if you took a coin like this and carried it around in your pocket for a few months with your keys and spare change would it take the shine off? Of course it would lower the grade but maybe it would pass without the "cleaned" label?
Sometimes I think that animals are smarter than humans, animals would never allow the dumbest one to lead the pack
The main reason it looks polished in the halo effect around the letters, especially on the reverse.
The coin will probably appear unnaturally bright in hand.
Either way you got it at the price you could not refuse ...... so have fun with it.
Don't you just love able to handle a gold coin without gloves and not having a worry ... not even a bit about it?
Coinsarefun---Do you have a return privilege? I would guess this coin in it's current state of preservation is worth a little more than melt. Once you get it, please show us pics of what it looks like in hand.

If you want to be my Secret Santa and include a gold hoop and a chain I would B. A. Baracus the heck out of it!
For sure cleaned, but if it was the deal I think it was, you did well.
It does give the appearance of having been cleaned.... That being said, Stef, you take superb pictures, so when you get it, show us again.... Either way, gold at a good price is always nice...Cheers, RickO
Well, hells bells!!.............. Shame on me I finally went to my desktop and its very easy to see.
This taught me never to buy on my phone or iPad .......lol Either way, as @jwitten has stated it was an outstanding price.
And yes, this was the deal you were thinking about jwitten.
I also want to thank everyone for the help

In all seriousness you could pocket piece it. It would improve the appearance somewhat. And it's a piece you could hold and not worry about.

It looks a bit like the surface of my Au 58 1899 half eagle that I sold. It looked cleaned. Maybe the grading company will also give you a grade not a details label.
Well ...... it is now resides in your lovely home and I know you hardly sell anything so enjoy it raw and handle it as you please
That would be the best problem for me
....... and it is a lovely one indeed
Regardless of the issues, it's nice, I like it !!!
Slab it or not. It is gold so what is not to like.
Slab (genuine) if you are planning on selling to ease the mind of a buyer.
