How any team can go into a season with such a lack of WR’s is beyond me. If I’m the Cowboys I’d give a guy like Corey Coleman a shot, cheap and a former first round pick I think. Him being run out of NE doesn’t mean a thing

Please everyone stop knocking Jerry Jones.

He is one of the greatest human beings to ever walk this planet, and I sincerely hope that he lives a very long life as owner of the Dallas Cowboys.

if i was a DC fan, i'd be so irate at the garbage WRs Dak has to throw to. there is nowhere to go with the ball

I agree, we have the guys...…..they are just not running good routes. The INT was on Dak he threw it too high.

how can you read what i said and think we are in agreement? the Cowboys do not have the guys at receiver, dimeman. hell, they don't have 1/2 of a DeAndre Hopkins on their roster. if you have despised Jerry Jones before -- and you've let it be known many times that you do -- then you should really hate his guts this year for sabotaging the entire season before it even started with his unwillingness to surround Dak & Zeke with a single wideout who is worth a damn.

i said this before week 1: teams are going to sell out to stop Zeke and force the Cowboys to beat them thru the air. and you saw a perfect example of that last night.

one question. where was JJ when Josh Gordon -- a Texas kid -- was available? a guy who, at the very least, would put a receiving presence on the field who would finally alleviate some of the immense pressure that is being placed on the running game. i'll tell you where he was........he was inexplicably, but predictably, standing pat. because he's one of the worst owners in the league when it comes to actually winning. money & value? he's the best. comprising an organization that is conducive to winning championships? one of the worst.

$4.8 billion...........how much your team is worth

2............................the number of playoff victories your team has experienced since 1996

    can you say incongruous?

your only saving grace is the division in which your team resides. wait, actually there's another. basketball is starting soon.

Josh Gordon is a train wreck with his off the field problems. I wouldn't have him, I actually like some of our receivers. Austin is good,,,,,just no big names yet. Sure who wouldn't want Hopkins or #11 from Atlanta or AJ Green or a bunch of others.

One thing that would help our offense to me at least is...…..STOP running Zeke up the middle EVERY FREAKING TIME on 1st down. WTF is with that!!!!! They know it's coming because they ALWAYS do it....he gets 1 or 2 yards or worst and then it's 2nd and long......throw in a false start and a holding call and you got yourself 3 rd and a mile. So now the defense can sit back and give you something under and it's time to punt. Who ever is calling the plays needs to be hung!!!!

    Rant over!

Good luck to the Jaguars today.

BTW - I emailed Jason Garrett and asked him to please keep running Zeke up the middle on first down.

I don't think Prescott will ever be a big number guy like a P, Manning or Drew Brees….etc, but if our receivers start running better routes like today we could improve as the season goes on. :)

Pro football is one of those sports where great or good teams can fade very quickly because -

    • Careers are short, especially for running backs.
    • Key injuries, especially in key positions like quarterback, can set a team back instantly.
    • Poor draft picks don't make up for the previous two problems.
    • You can't count on doing it with free agents, as it is in baseball because the previous three problems. Teams do trade for higher draft picks.

That's why Bill Belichick is so remarkable. His teams finish on or near the top, get lower draft picks because of that, and continue the dynasty.

It's plausible that if Jerry Jones wouldn't have so foolishly parted company with Jimmy Johnson, which was one of the dumbest personnel moves in the history of the NFL, that right now we might be calling Jimmy Johnson the GOAT head football coach.

Please note - Any Cowboys fans wishing to become a member of the Philadelphia Eagles fan club, and would have done so by now but the waiting list was way too long, let me know, i've got some pull with the membership committee, and I can get ya in quicker.

The only requirement is that ya must first dispose of any and all Cowboys memorabilia in your household. Either by regular garbage disposal or a bonfire would be fine.

Pretty bad when you can't beat a crap team like the Skins. We actually beat ourselves, but still a loss.

Except for the Giants, I think it's still wide open for the taking in the NFC East.

I'll be surprised if the Redskins don't regress. Then the Eagles or the Cowboys, or both, will go by them. We shall see.

The Skins defense has looked really good all year except for the saints game. They should be able to score more points when they get Thompson, crowder and Richardson back to. I don’t think they’re going anywhere. They look better overall as a team than any of the other 3 teams in the division I think.

The Cowboys offensive line is riddled with injuries and can't protect Dak, which hurt the point production and the fumble that cost us the game. He was running for his life the whole game.

Amari Cooper the Cowboy, they got a WR. They got a WR that will absolutely put up big numbers then disappear the next game. What do you think Dime ? Worth it for a first rounder???

I don't know that much about him and defer to your opinion. I think I would rather have the 1st round pick.

He is a stud one week then a dud the next, absolutely unpredictable but that could be because of David Carr. Cooper definitely has the potential for good numbers but I would have kept the 1st round pick

clearly per his game log below, a trend. so naturally what did i do the week after the Detroit game? started him.

His first two seasons he got #1WR targets and put up great numbers. Then last season Derek Carr was coming back from knee surgery and the offense wasn't the same so Cooper's targets & stats suffered. He probably won't be putting up major stats right away but he is a solid #1 wideout. Dallas will have the rest of this season plus his 5th year option in 2019 before they would need to give him a new deal.

I think so. The writing between the lines is that the Gruden-Carr lovefest is over. Carr has not been the same since breaking his leg in December 2016.

    100 million, lol..

And likely GM-like input on personnel moves.

That, and maybe he bought into his own hype.

But I think the Raiders are really gearing for Vegas. The time between now and then is clearly rebuilding mode.

Thru it all I thought Carr would have been Gruden's guy going forward,he still could be moved but his contract would make him hard to deal i think.

It will be interesting see how Cooper will impact the offense, Dak just doesn’t seem to be progressing in his 3rd year. D has looked good.
