The thing is.......the reason they look like crap is because of his bad decision making. If you have a bad player or coach you get rid of them. How do you get rid of the owner?!

are they making money? consider the idea that your interests as a fan and his interests as an owner don't align.

Of course they are making money. They would really have to suck bad before the fans stopped coming to the games.
Look at all of those years the CUB's stunk because the ownership wouldn't go out and get good players, but the fans kept filling the park game after game year after year!

so jerry's goal is to feed his own ego and make a lot of money and this is what success looks like. Championships would cut into the profits too much

The thing is....I think he wants to win.....in spite of himself. The Cowboys were always a contender when the Mccutchens(sp) owned them and Landry was the coach. Not so much now! At 71 I may have to consider dropping them.

but who understands the economics of owning a team? I don't even understand how the salary cap actually works. If a guy is part of the system and making money then he knows.
To get to the championship requires a certain investment now and he has decided its not worth it. Its not the 90's anymore.
Look at the economics of the new england patriots, they are cheap skates now and its showing in the team on the field. They have the GOAT at QB for a limited number of years and they surround him with garbage?
JJ is a business magnate. he's about booking his playpen and selling it out, regardless of what is going on inside and the quality of it. he just so happens to own the Dallas Cowboys. if they are perennial underachievers -- which they are -- he loses not one wink of sleep. because win or lose, money is flowing like a river..........and that is ultimately all he cares about.

I don't see how that is possible. We were tied last week and won. How do you gain on someone who wins?
Look at the standings. Redskins are 2-1. Cowboys are 2-2.

The National Conference Eastern Division is really weak this year. The Cowboys will probably win it by default. The way Eagles are playing, 5 or 6 wins will be about it.

How does that Houston coach not kick the field goal there. Is he on drugs?
Totally agree. Maybe they will give us the game.
The game is a defensive struggle, you have a chance to put your team up by a touchdown, and feeling good in the locker room at halftime, etc.
It's smart football to be aggressive at the right time and place, take a calculated risk, and if ya fail then ya fail...that's okay. But frankly, considering the circumstances, this was one of the dumbest calls I've ever seen.

I don’t think the expectations were a playoff team for the ‘Boysthis year to begin with. Dak has ZERO WR’s that he can expect big plays from, I don’t think he gets fired this season.
With “the boys” falling to Houston last night, it’s starting to look like the National Conference East winner is going to be a .500 team that will make a quick exit from the play-offs. It looks like it’s going to be race to see which team will be “the most mediocre.”

I agree, we have the guys...…..they are just not running good routes. The INT was on Dak he threw it too high.
how can you read what i said and think we are in agreement? the Cowboys do not have the guys at receiver, dimeman. hell, they don't have 1/2 of a DeAndre Hopkins on their roster. if you have despised Jerry Jones before -- and you've let it be known many times that you do -- then you should really hate his guts this year for sabotaging the entire season before it even started with his unwillingness to surround Dak & Zeke with a single wideout who is worth a damn.
i said this before week 1: teams are going to sell out to stop Zeke and force the Cowboys to beat them thru the air. and you saw a perfect example of that last night.
one question. where was JJ when Josh Gordon -- a Texas kid -- was available? a guy who, at the very least, would put a receiving presence on the field who would finally alleviate some of the immense pressure that is being placed on the running game. i'll tell you where he was........he was inexplicably, but predictably, standing pat. because he's one of the worst owners in the league when it comes to actually winning. money & value? he's the best. comprising an organization that is conducive to winning championships? one of the worst.
$4.8 billion...........how much your team is worth
2............................the number of playoff victories your team has experienced since 1996
can you say incongruous?
your only saving grace is the division in which your team resides. wait, actually there's another. basketball is starting soon.

You are right. I guess I was mistaken about last week's standings. Oh well...…..the Redskins won't last long....I hope!!
Boring! FG's just doesn't cut it! It will take more to beat Houston.
What a bull shit call!!!
Looks like it's 11 against 17...…...geeze!!!!!
Boring is right.

Boy......do we miss Whitten!
Come on Houston...take this drive in for a touchdown...I need some cheering up.
Atta boy...keep that rock moving......................................
That bad hands to the face call kept the drive alive. And then the bad PI in the EZ.
It's hard to play 11 men against 17.
Dallas escaped escaped again.
Houston should be up by 10 more points right now, which would have basically iced this game as bad as Dallas is playing.
I dunno what the yell is going on with Bill O'Brien?
Dallas trying their best to lose this game and O'Brien won't let them.
This game should be cancelled right now on account of incompetence.
Actually …….. just a lot of good defense on both teams.
If a tube is ever going to blow-out on my old TV set, please do so now so i don't have to watch this overtime fiasco.
Don't tell me you are watching a TV with tubes!!??
OMG.....they are punting. Grow a pair and go for it!!!
A tie is fitting for this game lol..

Houston should just kick the field goal right now, and get it over with.
They pulled that out of there arse!
They will kick the field goal right now on third down, in case they fumble the snap.
This game is over!

Well, we had our chances and didn't get it done. I still think they should have gone for it on 4th and 1.
And just for the record...…..I am SICK AND TIRED of the run up the middle where everybody is on EVERY FREAKING first down.
Off to bed I go!!
And Eagles fans.
Sorry Dimeman...better luck next time with your Cowboys.
Yea you're right...I didn't mean it.
I HATE HOPKINS!!!
