I like Capital holders. They have been around for a long time and present coins well.
Very handsome presentation.

I like them too for some sets. Wish I could find some of the original burgundy flannel sleeves for silver proof sets.
Here is an old custom holder for SMS Cameos from 1965-7. Includes a tagboard cover wrapped in vinyl - I haven't seen many of the covers. Sorry for the carpy cell phone photos.

I like Capital holders too. They represent a bygone era.
I remember as a kid in the early 1970s buying an XF reeded Bust Half, a huge purchase for me at the time. As soon as I could afford it I bought an oversize captal holder and felt sleeve. It was how collectors showed off important coins before slabs.
They presented the coins well. It is too bad that the age of slabs has greatly diminished their appeal.
Nice job, really looks good !!!
I really like capital holders as well
HAPPY COLLECTING
Not sure if this ia a Capital Plastics Holder, I sure do like it...

I used to love Capital Plastics and put all of my best coins in them until the early 80's. My only complaint with them was that that they didn't use a thinner center sheet for thinner coins. So, for example, a set of three cent silvers or gold dollars in a Capital holder would look ridiculous. Has that changed any in the past 35 years?

All Capital Plastic holders are a scratched on one edge side at the factory for easy reassembly.
Great looking sets. I sort of miss the old days when this was the preferred way to showcase important or treasured coins.
Really liked the look of the holders but in a lot of cases the holders cost more than the coins.
Those look great. Love the way they show the coins. Thanks for sharing!
Capital also stands by its products. About 10 years ago, I discovered that some plastic screws had cracked from stress over the years. I wrote to the company and a free bag of 50 screws magically appeared in my mailbox about a week later.
Much more of a presentation than blue plastic boxes of 20 any day...

Hot damn!
I wish that I jad the authority to issue the coveted "you suck" award.
You should earn the hat-trick for this.
Capital Plastics showed off coins well and the different designs made it fun to display.

First of all, I like the holder - have never seen a Nebraska outline.
It is not true that there is a scratch on the edge to assist in reassembly - at least not in all cases. In my experience, the newer holders have them, the older holders don't. In fact, the holder I posted above has no witness marks at all. Nor does my blue proof set holder from 1961 - no marks.
It is a great idea to mark the edge - especially on rectangular holders. One tip is to put the mark on an angle - not straight up and down. This makes it impossible to put it together incorrectly if you line up the marks.
Another aside - I don't think it is possible to put that Nebraska holder together incorrectly unless you bury the wording inside the holder.

Over the years I have used Capital Holders to protect some of my favorite autographs.
I like Capitol holders....as demonstrated above, they are great vehicles for coin displays - and preferable to slabs (IMO)....Which, presents an idea....Full display slabs, with grades, from PCGS...For example - a set of CC Morgans in date order, with grades and varieties. Nah, that will not work, because most here also sell coins... and the market is much larger for individual coins than for sets. Oh well, my flash of brilliance quickly changed to a sparkly sputter.... Cheers, RickO
I like my coin holders like I like my (swiss) cheese - fulla holes....pardner.
Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]
I've also have had special holders made for me.

If you can find them, the metal screws add some durability and a great look.
Original Packaging, like mucho...

i like them capital holders as well.
Believe it or don't, but back in the 70's I was dithering around TRYING to figure out how to make some tamper proof screws or ...something... to seal Capital holders.
Meanwhile, David Hall was going about it the RIGHT way and researching having holders MADE.
I was in Stockton and getting things "done" there is a real exercise in futility.
I always envied people who lived in So. California where some manufacturing is actually done.
(Of course had I been diligent enough, I would have got my butt TO SoCal and done my stuff there.)
If my wife were alive, she could confirm this ...story.
I just ..knew... getting coins SEALED IN PLASTIC would be good.
I had some coins ANACS'ed in the photo things but flips aren't enough.
Oh well....
Go SOUTH, young man!
I also like capital holders
David Hall is a genius.

My first $20 gold piece was in a Capital holder. The gold looked amazing in the holder.

My family of Tigers. You can guess I was born in a Tiger year. Here is a holder I had made at Capital.

Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
Before there were slabs, I used 3 X 3 inch custom made Capital Plastics holders. The hole was custom drilled, and used the fitting tool to adjust the opening to the exact size. They costed $10 each plus a lettering charge.
I had Tap Plastics make make me a great holder for some medals.
Very Nice sets here and coins. I do like the holders too.
Have a few with ANACS photo Certs in them and they do look nice.
