As I was reading from a newly published novel on the subject of "paying it forward" with the underlying theme of how small gifts and acts of kindness can have exponential impact, I came across a chapter titled, "Echoes of Alhambra."
The chapter began, "Echoes of Alhambra's fountains, once a symphony coursing through Maria Innocenta Garcia's dreams, had faded by the time the morning sun cast its first glow ..."
The chapter ended, "The echoes of Alhambra were no longer echoes - they were a vibrant symphony of lives touched, changed and connected."
Needless to say the intervening narrative described in detail how acts of kindness were the catalyst to the defined transformation. ("Five Dollars - How One Act of Kindness Changed the World." a collaborative effort by Douglass, E. Swensen, Hughes, Rodriguez, Rotes, L. Swensen, Wetzler, and Winans; Publication Consultants; First Edition, 2024.)
As I read the above, it brought to mind our own visit to Alhambra and the "echoes of Alhambra's fountains" as I had captured them on film during a visit to Granada, Andalusia, Spain with its restored Islamic architecture. Standing as a palace and fortress complex it was first begun in 1238. In the 13th Century Muhammad V was responsible for Alhambra's Palace of the Lions, the most famous palace in Islamic architecture. The Pavilion in the Court of the Lions and its central fountain, the Fountain of the Lions, was undoubtably among the fountains referenced by the author(s) as foremost in the subject's dream.
Here pictured is the Fountain of Lions with its 12 Marble Lions surrounding its basin analogous to the Baptismal basins in certain Christian temples surrounded by 12 Oxen representing the 12 Tribes of Israel.

Finally, pictured is a scene from one of the gardens surrounding the palace structures of the Alhambra.
As an added historical note, in the 1400s after Christian kingdom's had re-conquested the region from the Moors, Alhambra became the location for the palace occupied by Spain's Ferdinand and Isabella and it was here in circa 1492 that a one Christopher Columbus came to Alhambra's Sabika hill, an outcrop of the original Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, to receive Royal Endorsement for his expedition. (Ironically that expedition led to the European discovery of the Americas where at some further distant point in time another Sierra Nevada Mountain Range would be so named.)

This pair of 2-Year-Old Immature Bald Eagles are perched high in a tree overlooking Campbell Creek as it flows through Anchorage Alaska’s Campbell Creek Estuary location where the creek flows from Campbell Lake into the ocean waters of Cook Inlet. The area is part of the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge and is located approximately 10 miles from the city's center.
They are perched for prey. Alaska’s 3,000 some Bald Eagle population has more than half of the entire Bald Eagle population in the United States. As a rule they do not migrate out of Alaska in the winter as many other birds do.

Birds that migrate from Alaska during the winter include the Sandhill Crane, Trumpeter Swan and Pacific Golden Plover. The Sandhill Crane flies to the Central Valley of California and the Trumpeter Swan to the U.S. West Coast. The Pacific Golden Plover, however flies nonstop 3,000 miles to Hawaii.
This small bird that migrates from Alaska to Hawaii is known as the Kolea in Hawaii where it has mythical status as an incarnation of the Hawaii Tiki God of healing, Koleamoku after whom it is named. In Kona, near the port, on the Big Island of Hawaii there is a Heiau (ancient Hawaiian Temple) surrounded by statues of Tiki Gods. The one depicting Koleamoku actually has a Kolea bird perched on its head.

It is easy to see how Trumpeter Swans got their name. Watch and listen as these Trumpeter Swans in Alaska serenade each other.
When winter comes Alaska’s Trumpeter Swans will migrate to the West Coast if the United States before returning the next spring.
