i only tracked down some of the posts so it may have already been said. after watching a few utube videos, i'd say the truck was on ice that melted? or the "lake" wasn't there. looks small enough that some snow melt/rain could make it fairly quickly.

Today's wildlife sightings.
(The pictured Hawks made their appearance at the same location where I encountered the Lynx earlier this week.)

He then went on to talk about the other wild animals he ran into in his excavation work and commented that the first one he had encountered when coming to the Northland was a Lynx.
Not more than five minutes later I turned around and there was a Lynx within a stone's throwing distance of where I stood. The Lynx is generally a nocturnal animal that hunts its prey out of human sight and makes few public appearances. In fact in my many years here I have only seen a Lynx in the wild on three occasions, and yesterday's sighting was the third.

Someone suggested the photographed bird might be a type of eagle rather than a hawk. FWIW here is an internet posted photo of a Goss Hawk in flight to compare to mine above. I should add that the wings above me were white even though due to the lighting they appear dark in my photo from yesterday.
I am also adding some more distant views to give perspective as to their enormous size.

That is so cool. One of my uncles, although I don't believe an officer at the time, was a part of that 1st wave of the D Day Landing, or to be more accurate, a predecessor of the 1st wave. He parachuted in as part of an advance team to help set up communications equipment.

…I totally agree brother…I can count my winning golf tickets on one hand over 20 years. My biggest was DJ on a live bet at 17-1, I also put a c-note. Golf is the hardest sport for consistency by a mile
