The above recent photos, including the first from this week, depict where the "Ice Field Set" was constructed for filming of scenes such as the one pictured here on the DVD cover for the "Big Miracle" movie.
Subsequent photos were from the actual filming of the movie on the "Ice Field Set" and include the animatronic whales that were seen in the movie: (Drew Barrymore is pictured with the light blue parka.)
Note the pictured red boat still moored in the same location in the recent photos at the beginning of this post:
My kitchen is currently a mess. The old one was built in 1976, so the wood was dark and decaying, and the countertops tile with who knows how much bacteria lurking in it. Much of this was enclosed thanks to the soffits, a double oven that was on the left and essentially acted as more wall, and a cooktop with no ventilation and just a bank of cabinets over it. The demolition has opened things up significantly. We plan to move a range to the right, and with this plan we assumed we'd have to move a gas line and open up a vent - but the demolition revealed that those were already there from the original 1959 kitchen. Saves us some time and money. Don't know what they were thinking in 1976.
But the demolition also revealed some original 1959 wallpaper and some old patterned linoleum.
Look like cousins of the pair I captured with my iPhone here in my neighborhood - unless those were from a week or so ago when they left your area to fly north.
Cool positioning of the full moon and the aircraft.
Full moon here tonight as well. Will check back and post some photos of it as seen from my place that I just took.
OK, here are the promised Moon Shots. The first two were just taken with an iPhone while the final two were taken with my SLR, albeit later in the evening. (Had I had the SLR earlier the details of the moon's surface would likely have even been evident.)

Very timely! Just learned that another player from my alma matter was added to the Charger's roster in the first day of the NFL Draft. Rashawn Slater, an Offensive Tackle, went 13th and joins Justin Jackson who was a standout running back for Northwestern in years past. Go Chargers!

Yesterday was a big day for Northwestern. Who would have thought 20 years ago that two players from NW would have been selected in the first round.
Here’s our inside bunny. Her name is appropriately “Bun”. Maybe she tells the outside bunnies that we are OK.
That’s awesome! 🐇
Found one of the babies in the skimmer well earlier today. Saved it from getting sucked down into the watery nethers between the skimmer basket and suction cap. Lucky little fella. Now I need to find the hole in the screen he snuck in through.
Edit: I apparently also need to clean and re-point my grout joints...

Are these the mudflats?
Surfers So. Cal.
@1northcoin-
Those mudflats can be really dangerous if you don't know what you're doing!
Agreed. Almost like quick sand, but the real danger is getting stuck and not being able to retreat from the incoming tide.
