I just dont understand the fascination with people setting off fireworks themselves, 4th of july has lost all its meaning in the haze and smoke of used fireworks, jmho

I'm assuming the fireworks come from "And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air". I do agree a lot of people don't really care about America's Declaration and it is more about seeing nice fireworks.

Since politics is described as "the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power." I would say I didn't post anything political in my previous comment. Fireworks on Independence day were brought up and I gave my opinion on why I think they are so integrated in celebration. I'll mention that you yourself gave your opinion on it as well. I greatly appreciate your policing of the forums, they make me feel welcome and eager to post on your totally topical thread ostracizing unpopular forum members.

    Buy slabbed coins.
    Stop searching junk.

I would expand on this a little.

    1. You don't need to buy certified coins until you start buying more expensive material. A good mentor is more valuable than a box of randomly purchased slabs for learning the ropes.

    2. Searching "junk" is a way to learn, but constantly posting pictures of it labeled as some great find will drive away many of those who might be willing to help you.

    3. A corollary to #2.

I can't decide if some of these guys are serious or are just out to pull our collective chains.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
