Set Registry Weighting Poll
In the past year, the weighting issue has been raised by several collectors. Initially, we started with a 1-10 scale to distinguish between cards of varying values. For example, the least expensive card in the 1952 Topps set might be a “1” while Mickey Mantle would weigh-in at a “10” based on their market value. Player… -
Registry points weighting question.
I was trying to figure the weighting for registry sets and was using Proof IHCs. This is what I came up with. Grade + modifier weight + weight for date. The modifier weights work easy 0=BN 1=RB 2=RD 3=CM 4=DC The weight by the date doesn't work as smoothly. Looks like date with a 1 wieght gets 0. The best I could figure is… -
LINCOLN REGISTRY MATTE PROOF WEIGHTS
As with most posters, my following comments are self serving since I own eight Matte Proofs currently in the registry. I do not understand why PCGS has assigned such low weights to the Matte Proofs. Assuming they intend to keep the 1909-1942 set in place, it seems unfair that a 1910 Matte Proof has a weighting of "1" while… -
A Serious question about Registry Weights.
I understand the need to weigh the value of each coin in a series. I not only understand that need, but mostly agree with it. Obviously a 1932-S in MS63 even MUST be weighed higher than a 1956 in MS67 (now, MS68? That's a different story. . .). What about the Modern Type set? Will a coin that costs MORE but is just as… -
How do you fgure out the weighting for submitting a player to the registry?

Weighting a New Set for the Registry
Perhaps some have experience providing "weighting" for new PSA Registry Sets. I noticed that the submission form for new sets mentions that if you provide weighting it will be processed with priority. Can anyone provide weighting? Are there guidelines? What factors in? I am kind of picking up where I left off in the hobby… -
PR70 Lincoln Registry Weight?
Does anyone know what the PCGS Registry weight difference is between a PR69 and PR70? Also, does the weight increase as the year decreases? An example of what I'm asking is if a 2004 PR69 carries "X" weight and a PR70 carries .10 more, does a 1990 PR70 carry even more than .10 in weight on the registry based on that it is… -
Re: The seated dollar registry weighting is flawed
There are several (or more) examples where the Weight is not agreed with by some users. But for what it is worth this is how pcgs indicates that they determine Weight. What are weights? Within a set, not all coins have the same value and rarity. Sets in the PCGS Set Registry are weighted on a 1 to 10 scale with 10 being… -
Set registry composition, weight rating?
New to the registry world and have begun to put together my own set, noticed some cards have more value or "weight" in a rating system PSA uses. Could someone explain the technical side of how overall rating is done....what is the calculation behind percent of set completed vs average of "weight" rating or actual grades.… -
Registry weighting dilemma
I'm working on a type set, currently 40th or 50th depending which entry one looks at, and I am having trouble deciding whether to buy a 1793 chain cent vf25 or a 1964 Jeff proof 68. Does anybody know if one is weighted more than the other?. Obviously, this is a stupid rhetorical question (redundant). But how do the…
