Re: The debate on what to do with SF and BS coins continues.
"Funny how all valid points are brushed over" Michael; "Brushed over" by whom? You, as much as anyone, should know Registry "progress" is made ONE STEP AT A TIME. We have come together on a very important issue concerning a State Quarter variety set this week (now approved by all of the top 4 sets and PCGS for that… -
Re: What's the point of weighting moderns?

Keets: They shouldn't give a modern coin a high weight in low grade. They should give a coin a high weight in the difficult grades. Bonus points - whatever you want to call it. Consider the 1972(d) vs. 1989(p) quarters I was talking about. No one collects them in grades MS61-MS64 or even lower (well, besides Braddick).… -
Re: 1985 Donruss
<< <i>I also noticed the set hasnt been weigthed yet, anyone wanna help me do that ?? >> I was wondering about this . . . I'd like to see this set weighted, but I'm new enough to the registry that I'm not really sure how sets get weighted. I gather that we can submit ideas/suggestions to PSA and they make their own changes… -
PCGS Weighting Designation for Proof Liberty Seated
There have been recent posts regarding PCGS designations in the Registry on FBL Franklins, FB Roosies, FS Nickels, etc. Many have suggested that the weighting is too heavy in favor of the designations, perhaps even affecting market activity and pricing. Well, PCGS is rolling out weighting for Proof Liberty Seated. All of… -
Set Registry Inquiry - Dahlonega Type Set.
My collection is named The PentaMint Collection. I'm must be doing something wrong as this is my THIRD request to the same problem which hasn't received any response. The first was August, 2025, the second around 30 days ago and now this one. This doesn't include the verbal request I related to a PCGS Customer Service Rep… -
Re: STUPID QUESTION!!!
RW> In order. . . 1. This is because many people were concerned that sets were not being added to the Set Registry quickly enough. When the PSA Set Resistry Forum was created and these feelings were voiced, BJ explained that Joe Orlando was the one who established the weights and when he was promoted the sets backed up. At… -
Re: "Set Registry Varieties and The Comprehensive Theory of the Numismatic Universe"
Hopefully, they will have some knowledgeable experts examine these issues. I notices yesterday when I logged into the Registry, a page popped up explaining that there were changes to the Registry, etc. and I had to click the "I accept" button. I'm sure you guys had to do the same thing. Because of the recent additions and… -
Registry/Math question
The following questions assume that the 1981 Topps Baseball set is 100% completed in PSA 9. a.) If all 726 cards are registered as PSA 9, would the final Registry grade be 9.00? b.) Card #190 is weighted '1.' If that card were graded '10,' and card #225 (also weighted '1') is an '8,' would the final Registry grade still be… -
Weighing Sets ??
I am going to request the 1988 Kenner Starting Lineup Basketball set for the registry and I want to submit weights for the set. My question is, how many 10's should be in the group? Should there be only one? The Utah Jazz set requires a high rating with the Stockton and Malone both deserving of 10 weight. Is there a… -
Registry Set: clarification on price and rarity
Hello I’ve read the forums and pcgs explanation for registry sets and how we accumulate points: “ The Registry weighting is done by taking three things into account: The overall rarity of the coin, i.e. the rarity in all grades The rarity in the highest 2 or 3 grades The price (because this is an indication of demand and…
