Re: Pictures of World In Arms & Uncle Sam Cards Posted
Thank you for the compliments. I just finished posting scans of the first 44 cards in my HOW set. Had a good night on Ebay. Picked up Iron Cavalry #4 (Need 2 cards to finish WIA set - Have 38 Graded, 8 Raw) and USHD #118 (Need 11 cards to finish 120 card set, plus have 7 of the high 121-144 Nos.) Got both for less than my… -
Re: What is the oldest or most unusual coin you have put into circulation
I once had a raw mint state 1943 steel cent that I paid just a couple of bucks for. I later decided I didn't like it & took it to Vegas with me to spend. I went in a 7-11 I paid for my stuff with it. The cashier (who was certainly old enough to remember 1943) took a look at it, threw it in the garbage, and didn't even ask… -
Re: 1953 Topps
Spacetrack, I would recommend ShoeBox Cards in PA. In my experience, their grading of raw cards is very accurate. Just bought 11 cards in EX/MT+ to NM+ at Fort Washington. Grades came back 10 PSA 7's, and 1 PSA 5 (light surface wrinkle on back, which I blame on myself). Also, very nice to deal with. Looks like they have… -
Re: Favorite(being sarcastic) ebay lines
"I would resubmit this card if I were you." "Graded by FGS, one of the toughest graders in the business." "PSA 9" in the title of an SGC92 "This card is a sure PSA 9" for a raw card from a seller that has 99% graded cards for sale. "1976 Bears team set" in the title..."with 10 of 11 cards" in the description. Anything with… -
Re: Which Vintage FB set?
<< <i>One question - these are the Topps "magic" football, right? They have a scratch-off on the back - right? any premium on cards not "scratched", or am I missing something? >> I believe so and same with the 1960 set. If you are doing mostly raw, want EX-NM cards, and stay under $1K, I would second the 1969 set.… -
Re: 38 goudey lot on ebay, opinion needed...
Oh- and Novocent- welcome to the 38 Goudey Registry! I sit at #11 (was higher until Jero blew by). Best of luck with it, it's a great set. It's picked up a lot of steam over the past year and it's visible by the competition for the few that come up. I find that trying to grade these cards pre- submission is tough. There… -
Re: Thanks to John Nanney's Discovery, 2008 ASE's with 2007 reverse going through the roof
You are doing well lope. I did the same thing. I am currently holding 12 graded PCGS 11-69's & 1- 70 + 1 NGC 70. I paid for these flipping raw coins, so, I can afford to hold these to see what happens. Including the NGC70, which I bought online for $360, and the 12 first strikes I got from the mint they only stand me… -
Re: Crossover?
That top edge looks trimmed to me. It goes from 15 on the far left, to 12 to 11...on the far right. bottom edge 14...12 right edge does the same thing, takes about a 1 pixel change from top to bottom... I think it's been sliced and diced, and not very straight. I would stay away unless it's unreasonably cheap or you don't… -
Re: I took the plunge
Yeah, I procrastinated but finally did it. I think I am good for a little while now: Membership Expires On 9/11/2010 I will have to find a few things to submit in the next year that make it worth it at $160 though. I have 2 items but will need to build up a few more. The other things I submit are moderns and not worth…
