Does Anyone know Anything about this U.S. Mint Box?
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if you know anything about this box labeled U.S Mint? I am not sure if it is from late 1800s or a modern reproduction. Its height is 4 1/2” x 9 1/2” and depth is 10 3/4” it weighs 12.2 oz. It is painted red and has “ U S Mint” stenciled in gold on one side. By the “T” in Mint is what appears to… -

45 years in my store (not at a show) and an 1808 $2 1/2 (AU with a small loop attached) came in . The family had gone to a local jeweler to scrap their gold and luckily the jeweler knew me and said it could be worth more as a coin! A SAVE! -
