Re: Mint to issue Reverse Proof Presidential Dollars in 2015
<< <i>As I commented in the other thread...just another gimmick to promote the prezzie sales....These and the hags are just non-starters for me... Cheers, RickO >> The US Mint and their games with these moderns is about to make me ill. But when the problems with classics are considered ; pricing, grading, stickering,… -
Re: A picture is worth more
Originally posted by: gnat What did you think of the grades after you cut them out, but before you submitted them, particularly the star notes? I knew they were not what the original holder stated but I did not do a thorough inspection of them. Seems like lower value notes were graded accurately. Higher value notes were a… -
Re: OT: I got to bat against a former Major League Pitcher today... and got a single. Photos added.
I've batted against a few major league pitchers (Don't get excited ). I batted against John Pacella when I was visiting in Arizona when I was in the 8th grade . He was 3 or 4 years older than me , but man was he better than the other guys in the league . When I was in 9th grade , I moved back to Baltimore . I faced Moose… -

Re: Poll: Who is most at fault for the shrinking supply of original coins
I agree that just dipping a coin to get a higher grade and waste the coin is not right, but conserving or dipping the gold coin to look better IS the right thing to do IMHO. Not all dipping or conserving is bad. Againg the two coins that I have that one has been dipped and the other conserved look better to anybody than… -

Re: I won! I Won! My first 1956 PSA 8 Topps Card
Thanks Jay, I had already added you to my favorite sellers list. I'll watch it, the card has a pop of 46 in PSA 8. I'm not to worried about "sosamvp", he's also bidding on the FGA graded cards. Talk about junk. I can't wait to pick up the Don Mossi card, they just don't grow ears like that anymore. Thanks again, Robert -
Re: TPG in Europe/Asia
There is at least one grading service in England, they appear to use "certificates". There have been at least two services in Australia, both of which seem to have folded. ACGS used two varieties of flip within a flip type holders, and Coin Grading Austrailia (CGA) which used a COA type very certificate very briefly and… -
How to sell Modern Commem Set??
I have a modern commemorative set of uncirculated coins. The set is missing only the WWII gold half eagle and almost all of the coins but a few early one grade MS69 or MS70. All of the key coins, the Jackie Robinson $5, the Smithsonian $5, the Library of Congress $10, the Olympic coins of 1996, all grade MS69. The are a… -
Guess the Grade: Does this Bryce Harper have a strong chance for a PSA 9 Mint?

Please view the scans below. Due to the centering, I feel this card has no shot of a PSA 10. The corners and edges look gem mint under a loupe, so not concerned about that. I did find 3-+5 light scratches, which can be seen with then naked eye by rotating the card in the light. I have attempted to capture this in the pics,…
