Re: Anyone want a steal...
Ydsotter, That was a very good deal on the Jackson rookie. Re: 1990 Donruss Aqueous
ajw, Yes, there's a Will Clark (#260). Unlike the Topps Blackless cards mentioned in the other thread, the Donruss Aqueous cards aren't skip numbered. Cards 1-283 and BC1-BC9 are possible although there are some cards in these ranges that haven't been found yet. On pricing, Standard Catalog says that Clark is $7.50. I'd… -
Re: If you could buy 4 late '80's $5 gold modern commems today (1/9/06) @ $528/oz would you do it?
It's better than buying a bullion coin IMO. The 1987's can be had for $125 or a little less plus shipping but it's hard to find some of the common commems for bargins now. There's nothing wrong with buying gold below spot and there's a lot of cool coins in the commems. You might want to look at the $10 olympic coins in… -
Re: A 1972 MS66FB Roosie sells on eBay.....UPDATED PLEASE READ!
Evidently I do not know my Roosies that well. I put a bid in on that lot with 1 minute to go at $250 and TT said that I would need to bump it to $260 because I tied the Max high bid. I only wanted to go $250 because of finances. I sometimes do not have what it takes to step up to the plate. I'm still kicking myself for not… -
Re: why aren't old generic gold coins more popular
They were and to some extent still are if your going to hold gold. I provide a chart showing MS63 Saint in another thread peaking in 1986 at $1600 each when gold was far below it's peak. When the market fell and gold hit $260 those same saints still brought over $400. Will history repeat itself if/when gold takes off? Put… -

Re: Type B Washington quarter reverse
Type B is bashful and usually hides from having its picture taken. To the two publications mentioned above can be added EVN, Coin World and the Numismatist. All have mixed up type B pictures in the past. Type C has a PCGS number of 145423 with a Population number of 3. The best then known was sold in Teletrade auction 2332… -
Re: 2020-W quarter dollars with privy mark...
one can determine the ratio of W's to non-W's by dividing total non-W mintage by 2M. Last year's five quarters averaged a P&D mintage of about 260 million per quarter. That results in an avg. of about one W for every 130 P&D coins or 15.38 W's per $500 bank box. These are averages as the salting process has demonstrated… -
Re: My 2013 National Recap
WOW Eric ... nice pick-ups! Those are three REAL nice looking cards considering they are 260 years old between them! LOL They all present very nicely. I am sitting here ready to write that the Gehrig presents the best, but then I go look back at the other two and love them all! Damn, they are Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth! Well… -
