Anyone want a steal...

...than buy this.

SMR is $750 but it is usually 200% of SMR. I got one for $1175 and that was considered a steal. The seller is a quality player.

    GOSOX - Your right, I don't think theres a Greenberg PSA-7 that doesn't sell for more then smr. When I was working on the '41 Play Ball set 3-4 years ago, none where available from dealers or via eBay at smr levels. And your also right that Wheels is a quality buyer/seller...jay

    what is the point of an SMR if it doesn't accurately reflect what these Greenbergs are going for?

    1967 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends.
    Looking for 1967 Mets, yankees, and 1968 Tigers in PSA 7 and Venezuelan Norm Cash stuff

    It's a good thing that guy doesn't take PayPal, or I'd be a little
    bit deeper in debt! image From what I remember, GoSox, the card you
    won had better color and almost no toning.

    1967topps-- the SMR seems to be off on a lot of sets. The people at
    SMR will argue that it is meant to be a price "guide", and that your
    input is needed to make it better.

    I noticed a PSA 9 1970 Topps Super Hank Aaron today for what seemed to
    be an attractive "buy it now" price (price was $175, current SMR is
    250+). Usually the "+" means that a card is on the rise, and many of
    the top cards in the 1970 Topps Super set had a "+" by their PSA 9 price.
    I figured the set in mint grade must be hot. Well, good thing I checked
    past auctions and found out that most PSA 9's in that set sell for well
    below SMR.

    I tried that. I can see the preview picture of the card but nothing when I click on the link. Not a big deal. Figured I'd take a look to see how it looked close up. Sounds like a good deal from what a few of you are saying.

    I think it's a computer related thing. Haven't had the luxury of using mine at home for four months. Been browsing here and there while I'm deployed. Been thinking about finally spending some of my tax-free money.

    Heh....the prices went up after my little buying spree several months ago. I emailed several auction results to Joe O. Then I noticed that Sandandy seemed to have an endless supply of PSA 9 stars...so I sold all of my Super star cards asap before they (sandandy) totally flooded the market. There was a nice selection of PSA 10s and 9s in the MastroNet auction...Im pretty convinced those lots came from them as well.

    Damn....I logged on at 9:11 am EST to hit the BIN and SOLD to Stump!!! I spent the last half-hour morning my loss. It stinks when you hang on the fence like I did all night. If you have a change of heart I'll take it off you Dave. It'll be a nice upgrade to my PSA 4 Greenberg in my second set.

    I'm too depressed to get laid now. I'm in a slump because of Stump!!!

    Thanks for the info. I think I will put it in my display case. I think I might have entered into an expensive set. Oh well you only live once. If you stay in the slump too long Ihave some great advice. Get laid.

    speaking of seemingly good buy it nows... there was a psa 6 NQ 1969 reggie jackson rc up last night for a few hours...
    buy it now was $40.00. my heart has been yearning for a psa 8 or well centered 7, so I hesitated... when I fianlly decided that the psa 6 would hold me over for a little while... it was gone...
    seller only had 2 feedback... but was brand new and ID verified.

    That was a very good deal on the Jackson rookie. The previous sales this year of below PSA 7 were:

    260 Reggie Jackson
    $71.00 1/2/2004 5
    $99.00 1/5/2004 6
    $43.00 1/11/2004 5st
    $60.00 1/11/2004 5
    $112.50 1/23/2004 6
    $45.00 2/14/2004 4

    PSA 7s have been in the $250 range and 8s are $500 and up.

    Ah, I see. That's an interesting little insight into a small corner
    of the baseball card market, and another benefit of this forum. image
    And it gets me thinking... maybe I should start emailing Joe with price
    updates on all the sets I collect if it's that easy.

    ydsotter-- I feel your pain. Last summer I found a nice PSA 6 1933
    Goudey Charley Gehringer with a "buy it now" of $350. Well, in the
    2 minutes it took me to figure out that was a great deal, someone had
    snagged it. image
