Re: Guess the Grade 1889-O THE EXCITEMENT IS OVER ! Revealed
Soldi's photography is Seven hundred and eighty percent larger than the coin in hand. The area upon the cheek and temple is hardly noticeable. Worthy of a higher grade. The reverse viewers left wing has a very small staple scratch cluster and cluster is an exaggeration, but there is NO GOUGE. You're seeing a photo Seven… -

Re: A dealer reneged on a sale of a coin to me today......
I would also put this in the annoying category, and probably never deal with this person again. I was at a show last year and found a coin in a dealers case I was looking for, but it was at the end of show, I had already been to the ATM and didn't have the cash. I asked him if the price was good on the following Monday, if… -
Re: Opinions on graded cards
If you're collecting a set like 1989 Upper Deck, you'll find for the overwhelming majority of cards there is little difference in value between a 7 and a 10, and there is little interest in altering or counterfeiting. Unless you are competing in the set registry, few people will want more than ten or twenty cards graded.… -
Re: New lights, dang they're bright, (new pics, kinda big)
As I suspected, the quartz lighting is the absolute best for coin photography. I'm cheap though, and since I have an electronics background what I will probably do is build my own. As far as the D-70, the camera body with no lense will run you about $780 after the current $100 rebate. Be prepared though, by time you buy a… -
Re: 2006-W SAE's OGPs growing REALLY strong! $120+
Hi All, New member here getting back into coins after a little collecting as a kid. I can't help but notice the craziness over the 2006 SAE's. Saw a 2006-W NGC MS-69 go for $260 and a 20th anniversary set IGC, supposedly all 70's but you couldnt see the holders in the pic for $780 + $22 shipping. I also noticeed that most… -
Re: Jefferson Spouse coins came today - what to do?
<< <i>Send them sight unseen to PCGS for slabbing with First Strike? Or, would I be better off inspecting first to see if they have a shot at a 70 but foregoing the FS designation? Put another way, does the First Strike Designation have much impact on value? >> Depends.....I had a MS70 (no 1st strike designation) go for… -
Re: Collectors Universe to be Added to Russell 2000 Index
I bought the CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) around 500 many years ago. The stock got news that it was going to be added to some index and made a run to 700 and I sold. A few days before the stock was added to the index it ran to about 780, and then it dropped big time after being added. I mean big time. I remember that… -
