Re: Phillies loss in the NLDS.....
The Yankees did not choke. They lost to a better team. Josh Hamilton was the best player on the field from either team. Cliff Lee was the best pitcher of the 2 teams. Texas undoubtedly runs the bases better. Posada throws out like 12% of would be base stealers. I believe Jeter ended the year batting like .270--Texeira… -
Re: How Many 1980 Topps Basketball Cases Out There?
I've always felt the Bird/Magic was very underpriced in comparison to the Jordan, and the lack of unopened out there is another reason. It's so much rarer than the Jordan. And a rookie card with 2 icons on it is so cool. But as time goes on, I'm realizing Jordan will always be in a world of his own in terms of popularity… -
Re: ~ Copper 4 The Weekend™ ~
<< <i>Neat documentation. Very attractive medal; I like that "braided" look to the star, I haven't seen that kind of engraving before. >> Thanks Kaz Yeah the braiding is unique but even on the white metal examples the smaller inner boarder fades in and out due to the high relief obverse. Which may be the reason Key never… -
Re: Is Greysheet still a player in the game?
<< <i>A few years ago I had a bid on a early CC dime in a Stacks auction. As I walked in the door I saw Dave Wnuck and asked him what bid was in XF. His remark was that CDN was going to be pretty ujseless on this coin. My response was along the lines of "Well, I have to have something to multiply by 3". For primo circ type… -
Re: end
This type appears in David Sear's "Roman Coins and Their Values" Volume III, as #10252. It is part of a popular series honoring the legions which furnished troops for Emperor Gallienus' newly formed field army in the chaotic early 260's AD. They were all struck in Milan, where several years later, Gallienus would be… -

Re: Mantle Card Question
Auto'd cards of Mantle are very common, less some of the very early Topps and Bowman cards from the 50's. 1964 Topps Giants are also very common. Mantle perhaps signed hundreds, if not thousands of cards (including 64 Topps Giants) during the show boom in the 1980's. There's one PSA/DNA authenticated one on E-bay right now… -
