A little over a week ago I could not sleep one night so I went on ebay and typed in us mint set ....about 3000 hits if I remember, anyway just looking at sets then came across the "1941 Mint Set"
I read the description and looked at the pics, I kept thinking the WLH is really hammered....or it's a proof,so for the next couple of days I kept going back to the listing and looking at the pics..I blew up pics of the Lincoln Which put it over the top for me as it being a proof set.....I noticed a couple of the bidders had pretty high feedback but of course did not know who they were....
Then I noticed in the description it stated "Free shipping with buy it now"......So I sent a message to the seller asking what the BIN was and if it was still an option, he said it went away when the first bid was made.............and then said in another email that the bin was $50.00 and indicated it was still available if I could tell him how to do it...
At that point I realized that he did not know what he had and the original bidder did not also........If from the pics I was right........That was the last contact I had with the seller.....I decided to just let it play out and even though I could have walked him thru a BIN for $50...........
With about an hour left on the auction it was at about 45.00 I thought about putting in a snipe...then thought the hell with it ...I bid about 210.00 and turned it off figuring the other guys would snipe the hell out of it...a couple hours later I realized that I had won the auction for $54.00.....
