Nothing to see here, these people are all lying, there are no nice raw coins on ebay, please everyone go elsewhere for your rip...er, raw purchases.

It's not. Look at the 6 o'clock position on both the obverse and reverse. Those rims need to be much sharper and squared off if it were a proof.

From a blurry photo listing on Ebay.

This was only $200 off Ebay a few years ago. The seller being located in The Phillipines apparently scared away other bidders.

Purchased raw BIN for $350 a week before Christmas 2010. Now resides in a PCGS MS61 slab:

These are some fun ones I bought not too- long ago on eBay raw. They've all been sold due to a move and such. I have a huge raw collection all of which has been purchased off of eBay. I've been an inactive buyer for some time though as I go through some positive life changes image Hope everyone is well.

I think I paid about $350 for this. Seated collectors will recognize it as the Medium Letters reverse, which actually belongs to a bust half.

I shouldn't jinx it, but so far in 2012 eBay has been very good to me. I've picked up a coin for my Lincoln clip date set, one for my clad off-center dime set, and more cherrypicks than I can remember. Not one of them came in a TPG holder.

    Knowledge is power, gang.

Yes, it's off course. It's foreign , it belongs in the precious metals forum or world coins.
There were 200 sets of these 2 coin sets and only 400 1/4 ounce 1999 platinum koalas across all options.

With the recent fall in metals' prices , it just seem too good of an opportunity to pass up.
May as well "dump" this information here.

Another coin purchased raw on eBay was minted in 1999 though post dated image . There are allegedly 5500, but fewer than 200 are known to exist, currently.

    imageimage

    Total cost under $5K.
Speaking of "thinkers", some think it's dumb. Some of us know for sure.

This raw ebay purchase was recent when this thread began in 2011. 1842 is perhaps the scarcest pre Civil War Philadelphia Mint $2.50.

I have not had too good of a track record with raw purchases, but I purchased this one raw with an understanding with the seller; if it came back problem free I will keep it, if it came back with a details moniker I can return it within the holder, of course the holdering fees would be on me. You guys have seen this one before, I just don't know if I told the story behind it.

    I purchased this one raw for the variety and it came away with a nice grade as well;

Saw this Franklin set with about an hour and a half left to go. If it were a dealer selling a set at $290 I wouldn't have even taken a good look but sometimes who is listing can be important. Seller hasn't done anything in over a year. Just a guy wanting to make a few extra bucks. The poor pictures were good enough to see toning developing and many appeared to be unc. or very close. Turns out the toning is developing nice color and 19 coins are super nice blazing unc. with nice toning and a couple more are most likely unc but not quite as evident. One of my best eBay deals.
Just noticed I posted a long time ago that I don't eBay anymore. Again I'm going to take a break and this buy was a good buy to end on. Only coming back to cash my eBay bucks. Then taking the break.
