So Called Dollar Give-a-Way- For Llafoe (Larry)

Howdy team, I bought 18 of these bad boys out of a hoard dispersed not long ago (Thanks to BroadStruck for the info). It is a 1880 INTR SHEEP & WOOL SHOW. She be in not to Bhaaa-d shape (get it), AU-58 and DMPL in my eyes. (Estimated value of $90-$110 from what I can gather) Anything else one could add would be awesome for the new owner of this nugget.

So the give-a-way, we currently have board members overseas serving right now. A good friend comes to mind, you may know him-Llafoe. Most of you know I was WIA multiple times and can no longer delpoy, but when I did, the little creature comforts of home is what I missed. DVD's, candy, snacks, books, coins and so on. Not that I couldn't get it, it was just difficult. So here is the deal, put your thinking cap on and tell me what you will send Larry, could be a letter, gift, picture or whatever. Doesn't have to be of any monetary value. Sunday evening I will consult with a few members and will pick a winner, but I reserve the right to pick more than one as I have 18 coins, so help a brother out and get a cool SCD.

YN- Get creative, make something!

Disclaimer- we all have different views and feelings on this subject so please be respectful and leave the opinion in your head for the sake of the thread if you want to say something negative. This is not support of any campaign, party or action. We are just reaching out to our friend.

P.S. I know he collects ex-wives and I think his collection is complete, so he is good

    A decent pillow.

also: I hate it when you ruin the obvious joke. My first thought really was to send him my ex-wife.

If it was me over there, I'd want some homemade oatmeal raisin cookies. So that's what I'd send, and a note to let him know I kinda miss his humor around here too.

when I've gone without enough sleep, I've found that Wint-o-green livesavers provide a little boost to alertness without a lot of sugar high. I'd send a few big bags of them.

gotta watch the iezo electric effect on them though

Something crazily practical out there in those pernicious sands - baby wipes. Cleans you when you cannot get a decent hot shower sometimes in weeks, and soothes the skin especially in the heat, sand etc.

Not a so called dollar, but it is listed as a token in Rulau's 4th edition of United States Tokens, 1700-1900. Listed as Pa-Ph320 for the Gilt bronze composition. (25.3 mm). There is a gold example of this token in a local collection known to me(one of possibly 30 struck by the U.S. Mint). The gilt bronze were distributed at the Pennsylvania State Agricultural Fair in 1880.

If you have a list of suggested items that would serve Larry well, I would like to send something. Please PM his deployment address.

Asides from my thanks and gratitude, I'd send a big box of miscellaneous goodies, snacks, candies, toothpaste/brushes, baby wipes, playing cards, and other stuff I could shove in the box.

I would give Larry a holey gold coin off my trademark hat. Really. Just say the word, and I'll detach a gold dollar or something and pow, off it goes to Larry.

I hardly know the guy, as a matter o' fact. But in the "LordM Trip To England" thing (sorry that topic is so dominant lately), he bought 33 shares to help finance my trip. That's five hundred bucks!

From a guy I'd never met. In fact, I'd never done a coin deal with him, exchanged a single PM with him, or even heard of him at all when he ponied up his no-doubt hard-earned dough!

Not to suggest I can be bought or anything, but a gesture like that leaves me speechless. You can see why it would propel him very high up onto my "good guy" list even though we're not personally close.

Hey- how many times have you had somebody you don't know from the man in the moon come up and just give you 500 bucks, right outta the blue?

    Yeah. I thought so.

  • Last call team, I am in contact with Larry and have his info. You must be willing to ship to a APO if your thing requires shipment. Anyone else want to step up and get a coin?
