Yup. The gold beans really attract the bidiots.image

Yeah, something looks shifty -- two 2 feedback ebayers bid it up to that amount.

    I wonder if it's worth more 1881-S MS65 - interesting!

From the link: PCGS 3 The slab shell is the same as that seen on the previous variety. On the front label the initials PCGS have been added at the top center, and the upper three fourths of the label is covered with a "doilie" pattern. There areas in the pattern where part of the image has been left out and these altered areas also form the PCGS initials. This variety was used in Dec of 89 only.

Seller may be old, but he sure isn't stupid.

Nice return for the seller That coin is selling for 50% more than a 67. No way that coin is even close to a 67. Those old rattler holders are not all upgrades like people think. Maybe a 65+ or 66, but that makes it a $175-$350 coin...tops

  • This holder/coin should be part of my question in that thread by Mr. Eureka! I looked at the link and did expect to see an even larger number!

Several individuals have noticed the same thing I pointed out earlier. 2 bidders with 2 feedback.

There is no doubt that there is interest in the gold beans. I also mentioned pages ago that there are several 'players' who will do quite a bit to get them . . . but they are not crazy.

    And they don't have eBay Feedback of "2" either . . .

Lesson learned from this thread? If you see an undergraded Morgan don't resubmit it. Send it to CAC instead and sell it online.

Even at $300 it's worth getting the bean as opposed to a new holder.

Both of the back-and-forth bidders have feedback ratings of 2.
If I'm the seller I'm very worried about getting paid.
    When in doubt, don't.

Wow!! If the coin gets paid for there should be 2 happy campers, the seller and the winner. It is not for me to try to figure out the winners logic to his bid.

I attribute the price to GBH (Gold Bean Hysteria) by two bidiots or possibly shill bidding.

could this be two friends, or the same guy bidding with 2 accounts, working a scam?

"winner" backs out and closes throw-away account, seller offers lot to underbidder for one increment over last "other" bid of $307...? Other bidders frozen out... would (did) this work?

Could work-could be a plan to make the underbidder think he/she is getting a bargain.

Your most likely right as the last real bidder was at $307...

The other two yahoo's might have just been shills hoping someone else legitimate would jump in last minute with auction fever image
