I have a rule about slamming the same coin twice in one week. Someone ATS asked their opinion about that coin last week. My guess is NO LUSTER AT ALL, hence the grade. The surfaces are definitely better than MS60. Silent Net Grade IMO.

I would only like to have that coin on me one day of the year, St. Patricks day.

I wasn't aware of the thread across the street.
I appreciate the opinions so far.

MS60 is a bit of an unusual grade and generally denotes a very unattractive coin.

Or, back then perhaps a bit shy on the color?

I'm in the discounted grade boat. Whether it's devoid of luster or questionable toning I don't care for the coin.

I absolutely love Peace dollars. I'm gaining an appreciation for nicely toned coins. These two concepts rarely mix. This coin doesn't come close.

I'd pass on that one. Looks NT, but not pretty.

    Not for me ...

The color looks more like something that came out of an ink bottle than a reaction between the coin and chemicals from cloth or paper.

    Interesting coin.

The pattern looks like album toning, but the coloration is odd.

I personally do not find it attractive but what is more disturbing is that someone paid $177.50 for it.

I love toned Peace dollars. But I prefer my toning to be more subtle.

Not a whole lot to recommend that one. Even though I really like green toning as a general rule,
this coin says "walk away" to me.

The pictures looked juiced to me (checkout the color of the slab), and the coin still isn't very attractive.

I like it. the reverse shows a natural pattern, old bag toning.

    not bad at all.
  • I was tracking that auction because I own this:

  • I'm sorry, but I don't like it at all. The luster looks muted by the color, and I'm not a fan of the toning myself.

Never a need to apologize. All opinions welcome, even if the vast majority are negative toward something I find positive.

  • I sure would not pay extra for the toning on it.

The main thing that really bothers me is the MS60 grade- that is rarely used and I am not sure why 60 was used here- other than they did not like the color

I bet the images don't show the true colors of green on the obverse. Either way I love it!!

Show us new pix when it arrives. I'm not sure the auction ones are the most flattering.
