I think I found a DDO Franklin proof... Close up pics

I went ahead and purchased that little microscope camera thingy. I've been looking up close at all kinds of coins
lately and I have to say, this little gadget is very cool.

Here's some shots of a 62 proof Franklin I just got in a trade... I think it's legit doubling and not just strike..

It's tough to see here, but the 2 has some slight doubling...

The rest of these are more obvious

Just for fun, here's a 1957-D business strike Franklin. I had set this in a flip a couple years ago because I noticed
the doubling on the reverse. I believe it is just double struck and not worth a premium but it sure looks cool
under this camera...

At first I was thinking machine doubling untill I saw the split serifs on the Y and L. I think you might have something there.

I haven't crossed referenced it yet with the Cherrypickers guide... but it sure looked promising to me.
I see what the rest of you are saying as well, not all the letters pictured appear to be split serifs.

The coin in this thread does not match the DDO in the 4th edition of the CPG. FS-50-1962-101 has doubling on the 62 and We Trust. (and the doubling on the 62 is different than the coin shown in the OP)

Unless there is a new '62 DDO, I'll stick by machine doubling.

It's unfortunate when machine doubling occurs on these coins. Very unfortunate.

All 1962 halves (P, D, and proof) have master die doubling. I can't tell if there's any doubling in addition to that. Here are closeups of DDO-001 and DDO-002 (FS-101). BTW, the FS-101 seems to be a tough variety. I've only found one of these which is the only one PCGS has certified. There's a couple other DDOs listed by CONECA but I don't have images and a couple in the Treasure Hunting Book. The 1957-D looks like machine doubling.

Looks like mechanical doubling to me. The flat, lower shelfs, unnotched corners, no true split serifs.

With the tell-tale slide of the mintmark I'd say strike doubling no doubt.

I knew that about the business strike 1957 D Franklin. It's the proof I was hopeful for.

Thanks frnklnlvr for the photos of the cherrypicker's examples... that's very helpful even if they do not appear to look like mine.
