I am generally a $300 to $1,000 sort of coin buyer...

Don`t mean to resurrect a three year old thread but why start a new one?
Let`s hear more of your answers as it may have changed by now.
    Mine did.

Quite a substantial amount for me considering the majority of average per coin value in my collection.
Built up a nice chunk in my Paypal account from selling extra stuff that I really could live without which made it alot easier.

I was almost divorced over buying two Lincoln Wheat cents - 1914 D (XF45) and 1911-S (64 BN with a touch of red). Paid $375 for the pair...in 1988.

I can hear the words like yesterday...."YOU spent HOW MUCH on THOSE????!!!???!!!???"

The most I ever paid for a single coin: $2,128.99.

Next up, three separate coins at around $1200.00.

Other than those all were under $1000.00, with most under $300.00.

I'm not sure on the exact amount but it is in the $350-$400 range, most of my purchases are under $100. I've sold a few for more than that, though. image

For anyone experiencing sticker shock (or wallet envy) while reading this thread, take it from me that it is possible to put together a unique and interesting on a modest budget.
