I couldn't resist this toned 1900-S $20 Lib mounted in a sterling silver and gold belt buckle. I rarely see such vibrant toning on gold coins, perhaps the leather belt caused this colorful toning. The toning is more colorful in hand. Please post some toned gold.

That was my first thought. It may be a gold plated replica.

But I wouldn't be caught dead wearing it!

Lol true, but it would look cool in a case
<< <i>It may more likely be the case that repeated polishing of the coin resulted in the toning from the applied polishing compound. >>
I wonder if it was more likely the result of cross-contamination from the surrounding silver and the polishing agent was a carrier.

You could end up dead if you did wear it. This piece kind of screams, “Knock me in the head. My belt melts for $1,700.00!"
