A Cameo that isn't. 1964 Lincoln
I sure thought this was a lock CAM or DCAM. Shows what I know.
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.

Overlooked so easily. If the CAMEO doesn't show on the lettering? No designation no matter how chalky the portrait (although NGC will award the STAR many times).
What do the fields of the cent look like in hand?
Regardless of the lack of a Cameo designation, the pictured cent is drop dead gorgeous.

JK about the horrible bit, it is a beautiful coin. Certainly PQ or Plus or Star or something in my book. I'd pay more for that than I would for a brilliant coin. The lettering looks OK to me. Perhaps Sanction is right about the fields not being mirrorlike enough?
If you had left the grade hidden and said it was a CAM, I wonder if this thread would have been full of "what a nice cameo" comments. Though perhaps with some different posters.
Going by the pic, I would have expected CAM.

what he said...
At PCGS you have to have both deep mirrors and frosted devices to get a cam or dcam.
If you get the deep mirrors and frosty devices, the lettering tends to be cameo as well, so I don't see the lettering as a determining factor.
