There were two of them on Teletrade last night (weren't even advertised as Doily holders) 1880-S Morgan in PCGS MS63 cert no. 8187953 = $176 + BP 1882-S Morgan in PCGS MS63 cert no. 8187939 = $211 + BP
And on eBay there was 1925 California commem in PCGS MS63 cert no. 6219046 = $611!!!!
When I sold my MS64 Peace Dollar and it went for under $200 I started to think the market on these was becomming soft. Apparently that isn't the case.

There is no BP on tuesday night listings. Funny thing is that Braddick's pair of ms64 Morgans only went for $260. That 82-s will probably get a gold CAC sticker.
State Cross Country and NFHS Publications in Indy . . . I can guarantee you the two Morgies would not have sold for $260. I guess I need to get into the 21st Century and be able to haunt eBay on a cellphone as this time of year cost me. Those were certainly uinderpriced.
Also got beat on the CA Commem. Put in what I thought was a good bid (I was the underbidder) but was tied up all day at State XC. Still, I thought I would be $100 higher than anyone else. Wrong! Did get the Pilgrim Doily though in MS64. About half the price of the CA . . . so that salved the wounds somewhat. Wonder what my Washington Carver or Columbian might go for if the MS63 CA is $611+ ???
illini: Your 1915-D cent does look fabulous for the grade. While your cent is indeed the only non VDB wheat mint state cent, I do have a proof non VDB wheat reverse version in the 1956 proof cent which was given to me as a gift because it was an orphan with a huge birth mark of a royal carbon spot.
But it was saved indeed only because it is a doily!

Sorry about that, I guess I overlooked that one since the Lincoln proofs are listed separately. But after thinking about it a little more, I still do have the only non-VDB wheat cent listed since they added back the VDB initials to the obverse in 1918
And wow, a 2 cent in a doily just being added.... very nice!!!!
I need to run more and hunt for Doilies less. Ain't it the truth !!!
The recent odd Doilies arriving have been fun. I've certainly found out that Morgies were the preferred "coin of choice" to submit in late 1989 as they are common enough to find in the street outside your house.
But the odd denominations, Commems, and a few of the other cool ones still keep the blood circulating.
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. (Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose, Cardinal.
The Doilies are slowing down dramatically. Most of the ones I see now are via special 'connections' here and there. They emerge one at a time and the last 4-5 I have acquired have been 'unique' Type pieces from special locations. If you discount the overpriced retreads listed on eBay now . . . not much is emerging despite the propping up of the Doily Market I have been guilty of. But maybe 'overpriced' is too strong a word . . . the Bay Bridge in MS63 just sold for $750 in just 24 hours !!!
Most of the early pieces I bought were the plethora of Morgans and Mercs that hit the market while we all (and I) found out that Morgans were the primary slabbed coin in December 1989. In retrospect, I maybe wish I hadn't bought 50 Morgans at huge premiums that just pumped up the market . . . and had focused on the 'Type' pieces that are coming out now . . . but perhaps I'll use them as trade bait to buy some other fun 'Type' pieces. In time, I'll report my observations, but the Morgans and Mercs are just too common . . . they constitute 65% +++ of the Doily Market --- hence the languishing of those on eBay now.
Thanks all for helping keep the census organized...seriously I don't know how I miss some of these things! I hope to someday come up with a better method of tracking these. FYI I usually wait to update the census when I have a few to report, it saves time. Usually happens about once a week...recently only about once every two weeks.
