A federal judge next month will sentence the man who authorities say took advantage of the booming gold market, by scamming more than 1,400 people out of tens of millions of dollars.
But before he goes to prison, the mastermind of the scheme, Jamie Campany, sat down with ABC News' Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross to reveal how he tricked his hundreds of victims out of nearly $30 million.

    Agreed lock them all up for as long as possible.Always is good to be reminded that you should NEVER give your money to a stranger who cold calls you and offers a once in a lifetime deal.

    Of course he's a liar...he's not "truly sorry" or he wouldn't have scammed people in the first place...he's only truly sorry that he got caught.

    I dont condone scamming people whatsoever.....and I really hope Campany gets the max sentence. But how effing stupid were his "clients"? They paid for a valuable lesson in their own stupidity.

    There will be a lot of hurt individuals when the 'day of reckoning' for precious metals comes around. Those holding 'paper' gold are most at risk. Cheers, RickO

    Whatever happened to that guy in Texas or the Bahamas?..............Stanford Coin? Was that the name? Was he just declared incompetent to stand trial?

    And what happened to the coin guy with the big casa in Florida? The guy that was involved with I Can't Grade?
