I didn't buy anything over the counter this week, but did get pretty lucky searching $2500 worth of half dollars.

    $21.50 in 40% silver and $5 face in 90% - Including 2 Franklins and a Walker.

Couldn't pass this stuff up. I think the private issue 1/20 & 1/10 oz'ers are super cool. I'm trying to find out just how many denominations were issued, I'd like to make a complete set. Thanks to Zubie for the perfect 70 20th Ann. ASE set that I can now rest trying to get at a decent price. image

Finally acquired a US Mint issue $25 gold eagle watch, been looking for quite a while, they are quite rare. Price and/or condition always prevented it until now.

  • Cant go wrong for $1100 Derry. The gold content alone is nearly $850. I like it a lot.

That watch is awesome! Is that sold off of the US mint site?

Made by CoinWatch exclusively for US Mint. Sold one year only by US Mint. A hard to find item in good condition.

Thanks Derry. I bought mine back in 2006 from ebay. I have not taken mine out of the box since I bought it. This thread made me go take a look at mine and thats where I saw a certificate from coinwatch. Also noticed of course the battery is now dead. image

Do you know what the production run was on these?

I thought they had to hollow out the coin to make room for the watch movement.

They split the coin and spaced the halves apart with the guts sandwiched in between.

Dig the watch. Is the back enclosed at all? I'd imagine if you wore it the rub would work the coin pretty good after a bit.

Reminds me of the money clips with the ASEs I bought from the mint years ago that were a year or 2 only. Might have to dig mine out, think it's in the box still unopened. Wonder if my dad uses his anymore too...?

So, there is no loss of gold? Interesting where the hands of the watch are attached. Now we know why Ms Liberty is smiling.imageimage

Both sides of the coin are protected by sapphire crystals.
