Have a Great Day!

It stood out not because it was a silver certificate, but just because it was an old-style five. Practically everything I see now are are the new purpley-colored ones. It's gotten to where old small-portrait bills (with the exception of the dollar, of course) are just not so commonly seen.
(The scans are lousy, but it's a 1934-C.)
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
No idea if it would fetch a premium, though.
I took a bunch of average circ. small size $1 silver certificates to a leading dealer over the summer - he wouldn't make an offer and said "spend 'em".

Odd? My ex-wife told me I was worthless and that I wasn't worth sheet! You mean I was actually worth $4?

Thought that was Archie Bunker.

I've seen this a bit too but mostly incorrectly applied. It seems like a tactic for basically telling you "ill take it off your hands for face and it's not worth anything".
Remember, maybe 10-20 years ago dealers were telling collectors/customers to spend small size national notes that were offered. Now they're worth a bit more
<< <i>Tough crew... I'll bid $10.... let's see where this goes..... Cheers, RickO >>
$11.50 if ambro pays the shipping. This is contingent on the currency grading in the MS range.
