But to fit Bear's collection, I think a jelly donut popping out and then squirting jelly would be more appropriate.

It's interesting that there is no collectibles category for coins on their website (unless I missed it somewhere).
got to be the coolest thing I ever seen ;
and shows what mankind can create if he wants too
Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.

Seriously, though, wow, talk about a lost art. Thanks for sharing!

Edited to add that I thought it was an actual antique flintlock pistol rather a music box. It's actually quite a mechanical marvel.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I know a lot about pistols and if you showed up at the pistol range with that gun, you would be laughed off the range. Reminds me of those pictures of gold and jewel encrusted toilets. It goes beyond gaudy to being rediculous.

That is about the dumbest comment I've read on these forums over the last several weeks. And that's quite a feat considering some of the seateddime threads.
Congratulations, I guess.

You are quite correct. I went back to the auction and took another more detailed look. I thought it was an actual flint lock pistol rather than a music box. Sorry about that.

Ah, shoot.
Now I feel quite stupid for calling you out.

The auction estimate for a pair (unique) $2,500,000-$5,000,000
To be honest they are beautify crafted and I'm sure they will retain their value but for that price even if I had the money I would pass.
I think after playing with them 4-5 times I would get bored of the bird and just appreciate their beauty, but not enough to justify $5,000,000 + even if I had it to spend.
....there you go Perry , nothing that a little communication couldn't clear up !
