Vegas puts the line at you getting either your card or $20 back at +580000000000000000000000000000000

I'm the type of person that holds grudges, so I would make this guy's existence on ebay a living hell for the next 3 months. That will make him hesitate the next time he tries to scam someone out of $20.

....It would be in their business interest to pursue this from a legal standpoint if there are options available to them...... >>

EBAY has no liability here. They can/will do nothing to help the OP.

In fact, as previously noted, if the OP gets too aggressive with
the THIEF, EBAY will side with the THIEF and punish the OP. >>

I never implied eBay has any liability whatsoever. I am stating, however, that it would be in eBay's business interest to not allow buyers/sellers to facilitate mail fraud through their site. They should want to take action on that basis alone.

Judging from his negative feedback, I'd be surprised if the nice guy approach works. I'd raise hell with Ebay. I'd have reported the item as soon as it was listed.

You sure that your buyer couldn't have brought this card into this guy's store?

    Interesting thought.

You know even if the guy is trying to scam you; stooping to his level makes you no better.

Wow this card is getting pumped up. $200+ now.

I realize one of the bidders is your alt but it would be interesting to know if the other guy with 4700+ feedback would actually buy the card for this price.

Maybe, no way, I think the present seller would have said he just bought it.

GAME ON! Got a reply saying he's not who he is and he called me an idiot.

That's the best thing that could've happened. You're gonna get way more than $20 worth of enjoyment out of this.

I just bought the one for sale for $29.99.

Figure it was a reasonable gamble.

Let's hope both user id's are in the same name.

That should lock up a case of mail fraud.

<< <i>Did a user contact information request and I got a different name.
So now I'm thinking it's possible that the original buyer took this card
and sold it to his neighborhood shop.

One last attempt at something different. I'm gonna contact the seller
and just flat out ask him where did he get this card....if he just bought
it from someone. Stay tuned for more Sunday night entertainment. >>

I think he needs to know it was stolen.

With that bidding, I'll be shocked if he is not the same or connected to the original buyer. No way that card does all that without the drama, right?

    1) Buyer & seller are the same person or partnership to store; therefore different names.

    OR

    4) You needed something to do on Sunday evening and you looked up a card shop in original buyer's town and shipped card to the store so you could start this thread. image

OK, I know little about the value of the card -- except it recently sold for $20. So with that in mind, is it really worth the seller's time to sell something for someone valued at $20?

    -The Truth is out there.-

At this point, it's not even about the card or the money.
Obviously, someone is lying. If I can just get an admission of guilt from
either one, I'd be happy with that and just leave it be. It's all about Karma.

I attempted one last message to the seller that rather giving the card back
to his customer only plays assistance in thievery. The right thing for him to do
is just send the card back to the original owner. Heck, I would just give that card
    to Vito image

<< <i>As entertaining as this all is, you shouldn't have sent the extra stuff and you should have simply moved on once you were refunded the money (via insurance?).

Exposing the buyer on the forums is obviously useful to do as well. But getting involved with multiple accounts on eBay and this kind of bidding doesn't help you or the hobby for that matter.

It can be emotionally upsetting when you are "taken", but time fades these feelings quickly, and these unscrupulous buyers eventually get what's coming to them. >>

I don't think he was ever refunded for the card.
