I see our buyers on the BST are lowering prices again for the buys on the NP1, NP2 and NP3. I have personally done sell transactions with them, and all have been flawless with prompt payment and some easy money to be made.
But now, as prices erode from the $370 level to the low $300's, is this a sign that this is just a long series with little real collector interest? IMHO, these things do not even look like coins - they remind me of the modern private big silver discs and "make-a-collectable" stuff you see advertised in bill stuffers.
Or, is there a low mintage sleeper in the offing?

If the 2011s+ drop reasonably I may pick up a few, otherwise I'll be shopping for the bullion ones as 5oz stackers on the dips.
by the majority of coin collectors. They don't have the appeal that coins do (yes, I know they are coins) as
they are too big and bulky. No Whitman blue books for these things.
A novelty and fad that will soon pass. The prices indicate that the "party is over" as you say.
I'll buy them back for bullion (raw ones) in a few years. The graded 70's will always be in demand as there
are few enough to be desirable to those that do collect them.

Yes, and Yes. The economy being what it is, people will have to start making choices, and 5 oz. silver pucks may not be one of them - thus, a sleeper or two.
What's more, this series may actually take some dollars from the Gold Spouses, making the next year or two of Gold Spouses the better bet.
I knew it would happen.
<< <i>To me, this is a sign of collector fatigue with the mint's shotgun approach to new issues, and was to be expected. >>
I agree. There was a lot slammed into a short period not to mention many of us loaded up on 2010 bullion. Pockets have become shallow
<< <i>this is just a long series with little real collector interest? >>
we may be finding there are less than 27,000 collectors of even the bullion coins.
so, I'm thinking the collector interest could wane. we will see.
we may also be seeing more intelligent collectors. there may be more buying directly from the mint.

Yes.
