Kennedy Halves Worth More Than Melt?

Getting ready to do a melt shipment but these four kind of caught my eye with their nice toning. Was wondering if they're worth anything extra. Found them coin roll hunting.

I'm pretty sure you'll find the 40% halves are worth less than melt.

what do you mean melt shipment? Just sell it to a local coin collector/bullion stacker. You will get melt at least for them.

I usually ship them out to Aragold they pay 98% on gold and 90% on silver. Local dealer offers $4 for the 40% halves. I've just been hanging onto these because of the toning. Thanks guys image

Imo, those are kind of ugly. I just sold off a bunch with no toning but killer light patina starting to form after 47 years and some in rolls were so frosty you could put on a jacket when opening up the rolls- but to the smelter they went image

I would melt those but I think you need to shop around! Do not ship them anywhere...that costs you money! At coins shows there are SEVERAL dealers that you can select from and should be able to sell the 40%ers for $5...maybe more at today's silver price.

Several months ago I went to a SMALL COIN SHOW where there were only 4 dealers buying silver. This was when 90% Silver Coins were worth 27X Face. I had one person offer me 22x Face, another 20x Face I think, another 23x Face, and another 26x Face. There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE at one small show. You need to shop around. Go to a good size show and maximize the dollar amount you walk away with...and you don't have to ship the heavy stuff anywhere...and you get cash on the spot. I do not understand why anyone would sell melt any other way.

Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.
