Who besides APMEX? UPDATE!

Trae from APMEX just called and we got everything corrected. A mistake was made at check in and he has corrected everything.

Trae was very pleasant and I appreciate this being straightened out. I edited all my posts - thanks for the input guys.

Since the lights have dimmed at Kitco recently,

might be a good time to really be careful out there. Clouds may be on the horizon.

If you sent silver dollars in place of 1 oz. silver rounds then you were short. Silver dollars (except for silver eagles) do not contain 1 oz of silver like a 1 oz silver round does. Silver dollars are only 90% silver.

    I deal with Tulving.

I've had only good experiences with APMEX. They may be overwhelmed or short-staffed or who knows. Sorry to hear about that situation.

When I sold them some Pd awhile back I included the serial number of each assay cert in my email reply to them (with the tracking number).

Perhaps take a photo of all the stuff you are sending and include it electronically?

RedHerring...i have nothing but great deals with Provident both with buying and selling. Ive sold to them gold and silver in the thousands and i have yet to get bad service. Call Jeremy Denny....when dialing their phone number go to Ext 115. Jeremy is a great guy and he's the trader i always deal with. Both my dad and I buy and sell all the time to them.

Hell as a thank you we even got a 1/2 oz silver round with a nice Christmas card last year

Exactly. I sent .999 1oz fine silver rounds. They called today and said I sent silver dollars. It's a joke. I know what I sent. This is the 3rd strike for APMEX. Now APMEX can't tell the difference between a silver dollar and 1oz silver round? Time to go elsewhere. For good. >>

It will be interesting to see what is returned... Silver rounds or Dollars ?

Quite a number of the alleged 1 oz 1970's silver rounds were short, because they were not troy oz but Avoirdupois oz, or even when they were troy oz, did not weigh 1 toz. I remember numerous scandals at that time, but forgot what rounds were involved.

Edited to correct spelling of the "other" oz image

    Indeed it will.

That's exactly what these rounds were. Silver art rounds from the 1970's. I'll post some pics next week when they return. In fact, I have some pics in the Recycle Bin. Let me look now. >>

To be on the save side, also weigh each round.

I think you should PM: CaptHenway .... He spends most of his time on the PM forum, but he's a retired bullion store owner. He might be able to help in remembering if any of your rounds may be suspect in weight. BTW, most of the rounds pictured are not considered ART Rounds, but common bullion rounds.

I heard APMEX is expanding and growing their business.

This all may be related to "growing pains."

FYI...APMEX will be at the Baltimore Coin show this week. This may be a good time to unload or buy some bullion. Just remember, their published "buy" price is for $10k & above purchases...
