Is it time to cut up the 64 Accented Hair proof sets and be done with it?

At almost $47 is it time, if not, what is the number. They are all just 65-66's no cam's or dcam's.

You could probably swap them to someone for junk silver and save them from destruction.

I would take them for junk silver if the pice is right.

I would hang on to them.

It's a shame to send these little pieces of history to scrap pile. The estimated mintage was something like 100 to 125 thousand, and represented (1) the Kennedy half dollars issued to the public and (2) a comment about President Kennedy's portrait by Jacqueline Kennedy.

This stinking repeat of the economy from the late 1970s is the pits in more ways than one. I’ll take an economic boom with a stable currency, like we had in the 1980s, any time over this. image

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Sad...but it is time for them to go. I look at this as an opportunity to sell all junk, make a little cash and buy more into quality. I have to look at the positives in it all.

With no CAM's or DCAM's, I don't think Russ would be interested.

how about the 71 no s proof, is it now without a home?

and dump the proof silver, scrap is the best price you'll get for them.

@ $16.85 ask, Accented Hair Kennedy's are not a good candidate for melt value, the numismatic value still has precedence...now when melt gets to around $23.00 per half, the melt may exceed collector value...hold on to them or sell to collectors for a premium.
