It looks like I will have the entire day off work tomorrow and will be without family. What should I

No court hearings, meetings, deadlines, etc. A 9:00 a.m. meeting that was on calendar is now off.
My wife and oldest son are going out of town to So. Cal. tomorrow morning.
My youngest son will be involved with high school functions from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 or 10:00 p.m.
My wife had the house cleaned today by a maid service. The yard is freshly mowed and clipped. The family pet can take care of herself.
The Santa Clara show bourse opens at 10:00 a.m. and many No. Cal. forumites are planning on attending.
Sounds like the stars are aligning just right for some actual fun and enjoyment.
I will attend Santa Clara for a few hours. However, that leaves additional time in the morning, afternoon and evening free.
Any suggestions about what to do to fill up these time slots [I am thinking about a poker night starting at about 7:30 p.m.].
What would you do with a totally free day?

<< <i>Take an introductory flying lesson. >>
hmmmm, if you are set on something fun, this is not a bad idea.
flying is an expensive hobby, too. if you think gas prices are high, wait until you see av. gas.
if you have absolutely no intentions of taking flying lessons towards a license, then I'd suggest a modification. Find a bonafide and very seasoned stunt pilot with a dual seat plane and give that a whirl, or try getting someone to take you up in a 2 seat glider and maybe they can do some tricks for you as well.
I used to have a picture of the instrument panel and the view outside from a glider. It was instrument panel on the bottom, blue sky in the middle, and the ground on top. Great memory from the top of a loop!

<< <i>I would go with the poker game.... keeps the wits sharp. A coin show, short wilderness hike and a good poker game would make a great day. Cheers, RickO >>
I agree with RickO... poker and liquor!
Jump in the car and explore... drive till you find some little country town, check out the local jewelry stores ( they almost always have coins in the safe they have stached ) check with the locals and try a new eatery,,, alot of these small towns have local historical societies that have amazing exhibits.
Chance favors the prepared mind, play nice and have fun
b) If you like to run, go to Marin and run the Dipsea course

"Sou Mangueira......."
All good suggestions. Depending on your area - half day guided fishing trip on a river - great days doing that in Washington state!
I think a recap of your day is a reasonable request after reading this post...of course maybe that will come tomorrow after all of the cards and whiskey!
