I picked up six loose packs at walmart today. I pulled two blue tints (code #9911109). I am afraid the tints will have to be part of my master set. Are people selling these in lots yet? I believe they will be pretty reasonable in a few months after truckloads of retail product has been opened.

Jim (Arch) , the blue tints are certainly easier than the greens or reds. I have 4 of them here that I'm not going to keep. I believe I have seen a couple lots on ebay already and you may well be right about them being easier to score down the road except that they don't seem very high priced right now. Just food for thought.

    Anyone else addicted to retail?

I've been stockpiling unopened blasters, those "3 packs w/blacks" and recently some of those topps "value boxes" that just came out (that have 5 topps series 1 packs in them) I pick them up whenever I see them on the shelves

I'm sorry I didn't tell my heritage friends about this earlier, but there are 15 dollar value packs at target and walmart
that have been really putting out some big cards. These boxes have 5 2011 topps packs in them and 2 HOBBY heritage
packs. They also have 2 diamond code cards in them as well as one refractor card of either Ruth, Mantle or Jackie. I have
see a few coins, and a few autos hit from these. I have been pulling GU at a pretty decent rate of about 1:8 packs. I believe
that these packs may have increased odds for some of the nicer cards....well that isn't saying much since hobby and retail
packs sucked this year, but still from what I have seen on other boards, these things are loaded.

Also the kicker....in one 15 dollar box you are guarenteed to pull 2 diamond code redemptions and usually you pull one
more in the packs of topps, that is 3....these sell for between 3-3.50 a piece on ebay or message boards! that is like
getting back 9 bucks. I just sold all 51 I had for 160 dollars and haven't sold one card from the heritage or topps.

    Good Luck!

i think the blasters rank behind the Gravity (because of Blue/Red Tints) and the "3 Pack Blisters" (because of the black bordered cards)

I would avoid all retail product, its all garbage. I WOULD though try those 15 dollar value boxes which include 2 hobby packs of heritage.

on a different note, is anyone now thinking that 600 bucks was a steal for the Koufax heritage auto?

Well hello everyone, decided to join the fun here. Some thoughts:Topps sure has mixed things up a bit again this year; lots of variations, SSP's, etc. Since I couldn't land a case for a reasonable price this year, I bought a set on the bay. Also cracked 3 hobby boxes and several blasters, no surprises yet. I took a job in Denver where there are quite a few more card shops than San Antonio. Most of the hobby product has dried up here, boxes selling for $75-$89 a box. After buying my master set, I recieved an email telling me about the SSP's, three of them. They list Vlad Guerrero as one, something I haven't seen discussed here. I think it said his birthdate was listed as 1994 instead of 1974, is this right? I know parkerj asked for a master checklist, anyone have that put together yet? I miss the trading aspect of set building and ripping, but don't miss the cost of cracking a case and still needing 15 SP's to finish it. Topps now has what it wants, the rights to baseball. I hope they deliver quality and quanity to support the after market of our hobby, something they haven't done well consistiently in the past. Well, enough for now, gonna try and finish up my 69 set with all the money I am not putting toward Heritage...

Actually Vlad is #125 & the SSP lists his position as pitcher on back. Bengie Molina is the card with wrong birthdate on back #279. Ryan Zimmerman # 392-wrong BA on back (.370) vs. .307. Arod reverse negative # 490. David Wright with Cincy Reds on front #478. & Joba #139 with a different pose.

for those that are intrigued by the base Topps vintage variations, there's a guy over on FCB that has chased down all of them from '09, '10 & '11. It's a pretty cool thread.

remember there is a hobby glut this time of year for topps baseball products. There are a few products that are supposed to hit soon, gypsy queen and
bowman. Both will look like gold bar offerings compared to heritage. Gypsy will have 2 autos a box, while heritage will have 2 (maybe) autos a case. There
is no way hobby prices will continue at that price then. If you can wait a little longer prices should fall.

Anyone notice that in the 15 dollar/2 hobby pack boxes that there have been NO green chromes?? If these were just normal hobby packs there would be some green
refractors in them, but this looks like a different (and better) run. Anyone else bust any 15 dollar value boxes?

I ripped those 2 boxes yesterday Walt which is just 4 hobby packs. I got just SP's & inserts. If the Diamond giveaway cards give me anything good, I may buy more.
What I've been seeing on eBay is $85-89 a hobby box also. There are always a few sellers on Amazon now as well.
