What do you collect?

My children collect:

Type Set (1792-1964)
Birthyear Mint Set (1999-2000)
Stoneware Root Beer Bottles
Target Balls
Lakeside Classics (Annual books from RR Donnelley)
Fossils
Bottle Caps
PEZ

I've owned 4 of the 11 MS67FS 2000-D Jeffersons... this is by far the best of the 4! It has incredible luster... regretfully the TrueViews don't show the luster. image

Coins that circulated in early America and that have a traceable provenance.

Auction catalogs that allow me to trace those provenances.

On the non-coin front, I used to collect post cards of Russell Falls in Tasmania, as well as postmarks of "Russell" on Tasmania Pictorials (stamps). I say "used to", because I haven't really focused on this collection lately.

I have a small collection of sea shells(very small as I don't live near the coast) and interesting rocks that I find while hiking. Coin wise however, its all about Roosevelt's. I started out with just proofs but have branched out into circulation strikes too. Slowly working on the 1946-present .

I usually say I collect Scotch, Guns and Coins.

But the Scotch gets consumed leading to the guns getting fired. The guns then get confiscated and the coins are needed for bail.

So really, in the end, I collect felonies.

(just coins really, and some firearms.....not felonies.)

I live about 30 miles from the factory and find a lot of the older stuff at estate sales in the area. The older stuff is outstanding in quality and design. Newer is still good but nothing like the old Blenko.

Great topic! This is the very premise of my website....www.collectorsguidebook.com We all seem to collect lots of different things rather than just one type of item. Collecting is such a terrific hobby that you can share with your whole family why restrict yourself to just one collection LOL

    Personally I collect.....

Coins (US type with historical significance as well as Buffalo Nickels)
Game worn/used jerseys and sports items
    Sports Cards
    Antiques
    Sports Memorabilia
    Movie Props
    Currency
    Steins
and lots of other things image
