I was quoted $768.80 to buy a roll of 2001 ASEs on Saturday at the ANA show in Sacramento, which worked out to $38.44 each. Silver has gone up since, so I'm guessing it's close to $40 each now.
Would you guys suggest selling the box unopened or perhaps just running them by the roll on ebay? Are they in tubes inside the box? Sorry for the dumb questions, I've never opened one of these boxes.

If it was me I would sell them by the roll. Nice affordable amount as long as you don't get eat up by shipping costs. Of course you might want to play up the unopened condition of the rolls. You might price around at dealers etc though for a bulk sale first. After fees it might be better.
Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.

sounds like a PITA: transaction fees, shipping, insurance, and the "sometimes-lovely" people who buy on ebay.
If you sell the unopened box on eBay for example, ensure you take all the appropriate steps to protect yourself from the jamoke that will claim the box was full of rocks. If it were me, I would want to know what's in there before shipping some or all of them. Is the mint packaging/seals so tamperproof that it should go unquestioned? I get anxious buying something of large value that is totally sealed. 1950's proof sets are one thing....500 ASE's in a green box is something different.
BlueMoonCoins has an unopened box on eBay for $23K or $46/coin. Maybe they're buyers too....lol.
GSA, I remember a year or 2 ago when you wanted to trade this box, bet you are glad you still have it, went up 10K. You sure you shouldn't keep it!-------BigE

Yeah, I dragged my feet on it and never did anything with it. Not being a greedy person though, I think it's time to pass it on to someone else for the runup to $75.

$1.50 is way low. Maybe close to $3 over spot.

Are they in tubes inside the box?

I would sell all at once if I needed to sell.

<< <i>If the price over spot is the same per coin... why sell them by the roll when you could sell them by the box? >>
Indeed. And I suspect in the end the overall cost of shipping/insurance would be much lower by the box.

Buyers rightfully expect quantity discount. They expect the seller to pass on some of the money he is saving with one single sale.

Didn't cost quite so much when I bought it back in the 06-07 timeframe.
