So, what's an unopened green monster box of 2006 ASE's worth today?

$1.50 over spot? I really have no idea. The silver market looks crazy to me.

I was quoted $768.80 to buy a roll of 2001 ASEs on Saturday at the ANA show in Sacramento, which worked out to $38.44 each. Silver has gone up since, so I'm guessing it's close to $40 each now.
    When in doubt, don't.

The spread on eagles lately has been greater then $1.50, likely closer to $3 or more.

    Hi gsaguy..long time no see.image

$1.50 is way low. Maybe close to $3 over spot.

APMEX is asking for about 21,700. If it were me, I'd call both APMEX and Tulving. Good experiences with both.

it was a $ 1.50 over spot last fall .. the 2011 American eagles are going for $ 4.00 - $ 6.00 over spot on the bay

Seeing that Tulving is completely sold out of silver eagles (I've never seen this before), I'd say the price just went up!

Would you guys suggest selling the box unopened or perhaps just running them by the roll on ebay? Are they in tubes inside the box? Sorry for the dumb questions, I've never opened one of these boxes.

APMEX buy back for 2010 & 2011 is $2 over spot...my guess probably similar for 2006.

Are they in tubes inside the box?

    Yes...tubes of 20 coins...

If it was me I would sell them by the roll. Nice affordable amount as long as you don't get eat up by shipping costs. Of course you might want to play up the unopened condition of the rolls. You might price around at dealers etc though for a bulk sale first. After fees it might be better.

sounds like a PITA: transaction fees, shipping, insurance, and the "sometimes-lovely" people who buy on ebay.

I would sell all at once if I needed to sell.

If you sell the unopened box on eBay for example, ensure you take all the appropriate steps to protect yourself from the jamoke that will claim the box was full of rocks. If it were
me, I would want to know what's in there before shipping some or all of them. Is the mint packaging/seals so tamperproof that it should go unquestioned? I get anxious buying
something of large value that is totally sealed. 1950's proof sets are one thing....500 ASE's in a green box is something different.

BlueMoonCoins has an unopened box on eBay for $23K or $46/coin. Maybe they're buyers too....lol.

$1.50 over spot is a typical bid. $3 is a typical asked. The OP didn't say whether he was buying or selling. --Jerry

If the price over spot is the same per coin... why sell them by the roll when you could sell them by the box?

Indeed. And I suspect in the end the overall cost of shipping/insurance would be much lower by the box.

You could probably ship that monster box via flat rate box and REG fees for about $50....much cheaper than selling by the roll.

Buyers rightfully expect quantity discount. They expect the seller to pass on some of the money he is saving with one single sale.

I'd call Tulving, they might even let you use their carrier to ship. If you call them remind them they don't have any sealed boxes. image

Man, that's one expensive anchor...concrete is not quite as heavy by volume but is way cheaper.

GSA, I remember a year or 2 ago when you wanted to trade this box, bet you are glad you still have it, went up 10K. You sure you shouldn't keep it!image-------BigE

Yeah, I dragged my feet on it and never did anything with it. Not being a greedy person though, I think it's time to pass it on to someone else for the runup to $75.image

Bryan, if you don't need the cash, your box will be worth more than $25K before the year is over.
